Here's some rear wiper love. I used it for about half the trip from Minneapolis to San Antonio when I picked up the car. I think it's a great, unusual option and makes the car a great every day driver GT.
I thought I'd want a rear wiper, but the aero on the 991 keeps the rear window relatively clear in rain. So I think not needed. Maybe in areas that get snow & sleet.
I wouldn't be without it... I have a long narrow driveway to navigate in reverse between two old buildings that gives me 7' width at best. My predominant morning weather while trying to reverse is fog and precipitation. Love the rear wiper for those tense moments. Maybe it looks better with the dark top, glass and Targa bar?? I don't find it distracting or out of place. Never really thought about it. Interesting topic to raise. Cheers.

Living in the Pacific Northwest I thought I wanted the rear wiper, but the first 911 I owned didn't have one and after driving it I realized that the way the air moves across the back once driving at speed it does stay pretty clear. I'd only use it if I was stopped for a while in the rain before backing up. So I skipped it when I ordered the next 911. I don't hate the look - in fact, to me it means: I drive this thing. Even in the rain.

I agree with this statement but I don’t care. I love the rear wiper and wish I had it! I haven’t ordered any of my 911s and while the manual is hard to find...manual with wiper...good luck with that search!
