Expected 10,000; 20,000, 30,000, etc mile service costs

The dealers use those gloves to apply lube before handing you the bill. One thing worth mentioning is that not all services are the same. Many dealers add on completely unnecessary extras and jack up the price. Gaudin here in Vegas charged $15 for a key fob battery that I didn’t need ($1 value), over $100 for wiper blades (which I had changed myself a year and a thousand miles ago), and another excessive fee that I’ve thankfully forgotten for a BG fuel treatment that was wholly unnecessary. I suspect these profit padding practices may account for some of the price differences noted here. Although tedious I would recommend going over every item you want done with your service advisor to avoid Porsche extortion.

^^^ Completely true.
While waiting for my car this week, I watched a conversation between a SA and a lady dropping her car for what appeared to be a 10K oil service. She got talked into an "Air conditioning" treatment of spray that would "clean the coils". I think the number was $100 or more. She just wanted to know how much it was and be on her way.
And it's not Porsche dealers. Called about the wife's Lexus, which is at the 15K service. With a straight face, they wanted to charge $256, which according to Lexus, is a tire rotation, and inspections at 15K. When I asked what the money included, it emerged that they were including "dealer recommended" service items (additives to the oil, screenwash solvent, fuel "cleaner") to pad the bill. I asked how much the Lexus only service items would be, by themselves. Lady could not answer that question, saying she "didn't have access" to those prices. Geez. We made arrangements to have the car serviced at another dealer.
