So I just had my service rep quote me $3300 for the $30K service on my 2018 911S. Is this about right from the dealer?

I have looked yet, but I’m guessing I can do it for about a third at a good Indy shop. Is this reasonable?

What did that service include? What zip code are you in?

Based on what's required for my car ('17 C2 base) in the maintenance booklet, the 30K service is kind of an in between the two major services at 20 and 40L. It's an Oil Maintenance Service (oil, filter, inspections), plus spark plugs. Brake fluid is listed, but is at a 2 year/20K interval. Yeah, $3,300 seems a little high, if that is what you are paying for, but it depends on what you are getting quoted for, exactly. Oil and filter can run from less than $100 (DIY) to $250 (Indy) to $450 (dealer). Spark plugs might be $900-$1,100 (just a guess). Brake fluid exchange might be ($200 to $300). Again, just guesses, not sure what prices are like in your area.

I'm in Los Angeles (westside). So yes, there is definitely the increased cost of living factor out here. I'm getting another quote from a local indy to compare. Will report back when I get the info.

I got a quote for $2100 for the 30K service in the SoCal area. Does that sound about right for an Indy shop?

Wow. Prices sound like they are insane in your area.

I made an appointment next week here at the Porsche dealer in Tampa to complete the 30K service items for my ‘17 C2. I DIY’d the oil and filters myself. The plugs were quoted at $650 and the brake fluid flush and fill at $225. I’ll also pay a small charge to reset the service minder.

So in the interests of the thread, here are the costs for my 30K "services" done for my '17 991.2:

- Oil and Filter Change (DIY) $89 (Mahle Oil Filter, 9xMobil 1 5W-50, new drain plug) PelicanParts
- Cabin Filter (DIY) $52 (9P1-819-631) Sunset Porsche
- Frunk Filter (DIY) $14 (991-572-371-00) Sunset Porsche
- Spark Plugs (Dealer) $636
- 30K Inspection and service counter reset (Dealer) $0 (I brought Krispy Kreme )
- Brake Fluid (due by time) (Dealer) $193

Total cost was $894. Dealer costs above do not include my PCA discount; I saved about $80 on the service bill.

Yes most of the prices quoted on this thread are absolutely insane. The indy shops have seen the dealer prices and many of them are overcharging as well. I agree with others the best option is to do it yourself (if able). Rennlisters are awesome and many of them offer to help others out - so while the Porsche dealers may be rancorous at least the other owners are great people!

Cheers,
NF

Good to know. Thanks for sharing. I’ll get another quote. Sounds like 30k service should be about 1-1.5k.

SF Bay Area, Carlsen Porsche, last week

- 20K service (I supplied the 5W/50 oil) $850
- 2 year brake flush $250

I do all my own wrenching, swapped headers, cats, suspension, BMC filter, both bumpers have been off.. I could do the service

However I am brainwashed into believing that I need to get a dealer service stamp in my booklet

Which dealer in LA quoted the $1.5K for the 30k service? My $3k quote came from Porsche Southbay. The $2k quote came from Callas. I’m going to try Red Line next.

For real? I don't think I have done that with any car I own this century.
