I did not tell my wife till the date I bought it, she saw it in the garage and did not comment, working currently on my divorce papers.

Don't know what to say on this one, my wife encouraged me to buy my ordered Porsche and told me to change the standard wheels to the Carreras, who am I to argue?

Good luck, I hope you get to keep the car.

My wife wanted to buy me a personalised plate for my 911. As the purchase of it means that I am no longer having to jump on a plane 3 times a week, and we live in South Africa, she was going to buy me FU SAA. As they might one day be a client, I thanked her but turned down the offer!

My wife is the best. Never really questions the Pcars I buy or the swag for them. Does worry I may have certain obsessions but let's me do my thing.
She drives a Macan S after 2 Cayennes and lives being part of the family.

My wife found out about my 997 three hours before showing up at home with it. I paid the consequences with a brand new fully loaded MB ML350 4matic, she loves that thing.

The 991 was more of a joint effort, she was more involved, no consequences.

Don't really understood buying Porsches on the sneak. I mean, she is gonna find out about it anyway unless you park it somewhere else all the time, which kinda defeats the purpose of owning one. As many have said, consequences wind up to be substantial and just leads to mistrust.

I buy lots of white Porsches. Wife can't tell a 997 from a 991. The 992 will be white. She'll never know. If she asks about "that big wing" I'll tell her "that wing has always been there".

If you're at the level to buy a Porsche she should be thanking you. Especially if you buy her one too...

My wife has encouraged me to purchase my last two cars (Audi S6 and my TTS). There is no way I would have done this myself - I just feel too guilty about spending that kind of money on cars. Her response has always been " so you are going to wait until you are 80 before you get these"?

She also tolerates my other OCD fueled hobbies such as my high-end audio gear.

My wife is great. Got a TTS in 2015, although at that point, my third Porsche, I had to get her a new Cayenne.
Best thing is she likes going fast.

My first 911 was my "most expensive car ever" for which I am still paying today. I told my wife I was getting a 911 . Her answer; fine I'll get my third child so I got my 911 and we got a third child. Couple of Porsches later and that third child enjoys the current 911 most of all the kids....and I'll quite certainly over her lifetime spend way more than the top 911 at the time of my first purchase in college and other expenses on her. I would not trade out the experience of having either one of them, though.

As they say...It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
That being said, we've been blessed in that we've both been able to purchase the cars we want. However, I still get the eyes roll when I say I'm getting a new Porsche.

Must be a thing. Cost me a matching Macan GTS.

My wife stole my GT4 from me.

I still haven't driven it!
