Interesting. From Porsche and Tirerack I get the impression that I have 11.5 rears (with a 56mm offset).

I've put 2500 miles on these tires on my C2 since mid-March and they are fantastic. However, note that this is my first 911 and I only left the summer tires on for about 500 miles - so I don't have a good point of reference against the OEM tires.

THat said, I have pushed these tires hard in tight, twisty roads, on fast sweeping curves, and commuted on them in heavy rain (Seattle). They have performed flawlessly throughout.

Seems like a good solution for this climate - yes?
I'm seriously thinking about this for the winter (not sure if I'd keep them on all year). I've been leaving it in the garage most of the winter because winter tires would suck in our weather, this may be just the ticket. Did you order them through the dealer?

I have 4400 miles on mine. I drove around below freezing and they were fine. I try not to drive in rain, but I did go on a spirited drive with a bunch of other porsches and I was the only one on all seasons. I guess I jinxed us because it rained pretty bad. I was the only one not slipping around.

On dry, only if you really mash it in 1st or in a turn does the traction control light come on. I understand this happens even with ultra high performance tires.

I have not tried them in snow, nor do I intend to (i have seven vehicles with 4/AWD and the other 2wd has snow tires, but will get AS at some point), but for everything else I am very satisfied. I do note I only drove the car to and from the dealer on Cup2 and was so paranoid I drove really slow so I don’t have a basis for comparison.

I did get a lot of negative reaction on RL and elsewhere: “OMG all seasons on a GT3, get a panamera 4 or cayenne etc., the offsets are too narrow etc.,” but in person people seem to really like my set up.

My dealer got them for me (i insisted as I felt bad bringing them in).

YMMV

I ordered through tire rack and had them installed by an Indie Porsche place.

However the whole process took about 3 months due to backorders and I ended up having to rent a car for a month last winter as a result...

So be forewarned this is not a high volume tire (in this size) for Tire Rack (or anyone else)

Sigh, to have space for seven cars...

My next incremental car will be quite expensive because it will require moving to a place with more garage space.

Well, today it was 52 and very wet, and I was breaking traction relatively easily - first time that has happened. I broke traction in a roundabout and again on a left hand turn. Tores were not warmed up - had maybe 5 miles of slow driving on them.

Maybe just driving more aggressively than usual, but first time I've had that happen on these tires.

Question now is - would I have had the same experience on summer tires in these wet conditions? On winter tires?

btw - these weren't pucker moments - rather a nice, easily controlled, very minor breaking of traction.

I just installed these Bridgestones on my OEM Carrera S summer rims (245/35R20 on front 305/30R20 on back). It’s getting cold enough here in the Pacific Northwest that I didn’t want to deal with the summer tires any more. I’ll be looking to pick up an extra set of rims, but for now I’ll just switch the tires.

My first ever Lapping/ track day is coming up this weekend. Typically this (Audi) event (“Quattrofest”) is wet/cold and makes for interesting low-speed traction testing. This weekend looks to be just dry/cold, so I’ll see how these new tires do. I’ll have to get the new tire shine off them first!

Are we running these all season Portenzas at “summer tire” pressures? Or “winter tire” pressures?

Can you post some good pics of the tires on your wheels? I'm curious how they look compared to the Michelins because despite having the same measurements, the tread width (per TR) is almost 1" less. So I'm wondering how far the rims stick out.

My wheels (rear) are 11.5”, and they look just like these photos up the thread a little. I am glad I found these photo’s because they look a little odd compared to the p-zeros that were on before...

Thanks, I missed those photos. I agree, the rims do stick out more than I expected (at least compared to OEM). But they still look pretty good.

Default Potenza re980 as review

Dealer installed these on my 2017 turbo s. I never drive in snow. In Utah/ Nevada my winter driving temps vary from freezing to 85 degrees, so I wanted a tire for winter that would last longer. Dealer inflated to 36 front 42 rear. Drove yesterday and Friday 580 miles over three mountain ranges with lots of very tight, medium and high speed turns. Temps from freezing to 61 degrees. Very aggressive driving with my friends.
Tires felt stiffer than my previous Sottozero winter tires. Pronounced understeer at the 36/42 inflation pressures. Reduced pressure in fronts to 32 and rears to 38 and the fun started. The tires held at 1.1 g in an unexpected declining radius right turn per the g meter in the car. I plan to reduce the rear tire pressure to 36 for my next trip and see if performance changes. Overall, the tires delivered once I got them dialed in.
