That and all the GT3 tourings and GT3 and GT3RS ordering leather wheels apparently left Porsche with a surplus of alcantara wheels so they make you spend almost an extra grand on alcantara wheel and **** when you order LWB.

No problem though as the alcantara wheel non-MF GT3 is available from parts. The GT3 one is more than twice the cost ($2850) of the normal 991 alcantara MF one ($995 — you can delete MF as I understand it using the inserts off your leather wheel). A lot of money for a red stripe on the top.
Maybe someone would trade straight up leather for alcantara.

Edit on 4/9/19: Janko has become one of my favorite reviewers. Some very good insights and obviously a passionate Porsche enthusiast.

Why does the T stir up so much emotion?
I dont get it. Why??
Totally different price point compared to a GT3.
The T is far more limited production in the US compared to the 991.2 GT3.
Closer US production to the GT3 Touring.
porsche did intend to call it ClubSport from what I’ve read. (bmw owned the rights to the CS name)
I have no problem with the OPs review. He doesnt like it. But I will say this post and some other posts do read as if “some” GT3 owners are trying to defend their choice of a car thats almost 2X in price. No need to defend your choice - its a GT3, you’re good!
I’ve actually read several post about GT3 owners trading their cars for a T (or adding a T for more
daily use)
There isnt a bad 911. Some choose a c4 cab with PDK. I would not - but I also dont feel the need to write a long post on why I dislike a c4 cab pdk.
Why does the T evoke this response?
Some models will hold value better than others of course - but the OPs comments on all T’s taking a bath, maybe - but I think with the limited production (900 in the US) it being the “last narrow body” the fact that its intended as a ClubSport, and although its not a NASP motor there are very good reviews of this engine and its easily tuned to 500HP - I think it could hold a special place 10+ years down the line.

Honestly the T is a threat for many reasons. It rides better on surface streets, the performance is more suited for what the vast majority of owners use 911's for, the quality fit/finish etc is identical, and it's less expensive. It's also under the radar so to speak.
