not sure just the wood steering wheel would look good. Are you planning to change rest of the interior trim to wood as well? What color is your interior?
depends on a lot of things? Do you like 80s interrior look?
at the end depends on what you like. Seen a lot of drastic configurations on 911s inside and out.
I asked the dealership to include the specs for the tightening torque. They included the printout the techs use. There are two steps:MAJOR EDIT. I just swapped the original wheel back on and noticed I blindly quoted NCThirteen.( 37 ft/lb is wrong for 991.2 )1. 22 ft/lb2. 90°
I borrowed a friend’s digital torque wrench that measured angle torque for the second step.

Not too much off topic but does someone know how to disassemble the airbag assembly once it is off so I can remove the crest? I am getting a set of custom crests and one is for the steering wheel. I planned to just attach the new one over the existing one but it seems easy to take the airbag out so maybe getting to the crest is not that difficult?
^^^I didn't feel safe removing the airbag with the battery still connected for fear of it discharging when I swapped my wheel. Don't know if it's a legitimate concern but I didn't want to take any chances.
Even IF someone would go on record and say that the SRS system is only “live” with the ignition on (I’ve HEARD that but have not seen documented proof), I don’t think you are going to find many people on a public forum willing to say to skip a safety step. HOWEVER, I did not disconnect and had no issues (do it at your own risk, I may have just been foolish & lucky). -Dom
I've been doing this...got everything off, although it was MUCH MUCH harder for me, for whatever reason, the airbag releases were extremely difficult to release, and you really do need a very thin flathead to get the releases out...in any case, the bolt connecting the wheel to the column will not come out. I've been using a T55, I ordered the 12mm triple square spline and of course they sent me the wrong size. Anyway, my ratchet literally jammed trying to get it done. I have a new ratchet and will try again, but has anyone had this happen to them? Or any suggestions of how to get this done? So frustrating.
My steering wheel came off rather easliy albeit with some force, same for the airbag. My neighbor bought the spline bit set off Amazon for $10 and the correct size worked fine.
I am still wondering about the Silver ring on the airbag since I would like it to be Black (or Miami Blue) and it was able to get a small took under a part of it but it seems like it is tight press fit and I don't want to ruin it since it is not a stand alone part.
Earlier I asked if disconnecting battery was a must step because I didn’t want anything else to go out of whack. Well, I ended up following the steps OP posted to the t and all went fine. Except, once I reconnected battery, my windows lost the one touch auto roll up/down function BUT they gained back the function at varying times over the course of a day. I guess it knows to self correct...
I ordered the Capri Tools XZN which I thought was 3/8, because that's what it says in the listing...they sent me a 1/2 inch drive instead, and I don't have a 1/2 inch drive ratchet. My girlfriend was holding the steering wheel (or trying, she's not very strong), and we just had zero luck. I'm going to try again tonight, either with the new 3/8 inch ratchet her Dad had, and the T55, or I'll go buy a 1/2 inch ratchet drive. But it just wasn't moving at all.

This is an easy one, roll the window up all the way, hit the window up button again one more time quickly, and it should go back to normal.
