Hi Nick. I will be draining the factory fill on a 19 C4 GTS. 1300 miles. Will begin doing Blackstone oil analyses on the first handful of oil changes. Live in the Denver area. Car is garaged at home. Will be covered parking garage at work for 11 hours at times. Will be driven all year. Our winter this past year was rough. Minimal track use. Saw a few M1 0W40 Blackstone results and the viscosity numbers at 210 and 100 did not look good based on the range the Blackstone posts. What would you recommend for me from your line up? Thank you.

Porsche accepts both full and mid SAPS oils under the Porsche A40 oil approval profile.

UPDATE: A new Porsche oil approval of- Porsche C40- is already out and can only be achieved by a mid SAPS product. Keep an eye out for it. The 8100 X-clean 5W40 will be updated with Porsche C40 shortly. No info yet as to whether Porsche C40 will be backwards compatible to Porsche A40 cars. -Nick
probably a dumb question but what exactly are the pros and cons on less vs more friendly on emission systems and what does that entail?

Using the 8100 X-cess 5W40 in my 911 50th and love it, just like someone else said - engine feels like a sewing machine at higher revs

Thanks for the the response Nick. In the chart below, the 2019 Carrera 4 GTS does not need the C40 oil, if I am reading it correctly. If so, what A40 oil would you have in the 0W40 flavor that would does have as lousy viscosity numbers like the M1 0W40 seems to shear to based on the Blackstone oil tests. Thank you for the recommendation.

For those of us that prefer to run the A40 rated Mobil 1 5W-50 over the A40 rated Mobil 1 0w-40 for the slightly higher 100C viscosity, do you have a Motul recommendation?

Default 8100 X-max 0W40

Hi I’ve a daily driver 2019 991.2 base with pdk here in Oklahoma. Currently using M1 0W40. The car is subject to short runs to work 6 mi round trip five days a week where it never warms up fully. Current mileage 13k.

From my reading in this thread 8100 X-max 0W40 seems to be the preferred formulation to flow earlier with cold starts and will have less shear degradation than M1.

i plan to run my car till the tires fall off and plan to switch to every 5000 mi oil changes.

Do do you have a dealer in OK or north Texas. Is my reasoning good?

I switched to 8100 X-cess 5W40 at 1200 miles in the Carrera T. I've run this oil in a bunch of cars and have been pleased with it.
I do live in a cold climate however.

What Motul oil do you recommend for winter use in NH.? Temps go below 0 although I’ll probably only use my 2013 C2S on warmer days above zero in the teens.
Thanks.
