Default Carrera T - Blackstone Report 2 @ 4K miles

For the collective - here is my 2nd Blackstone report - at the 1 yr oil change. There is some evidence here that indeed an early oil-change flushed some of the wear-in materials. The 1st oil was factory fill Mobil 1 0w40. Second was Motul 8100 X-max 0w40.

Looks good to me.

Very interesting. It seems that the Mobil 1 shows better viscosity numbers than the Motul in your sample.

Here is my sample from a 19 4 GTS. Our right most columns have different numbers for some of the universal averages. Also the viscosity range values have been lowered by Blackstone. I wonder why? I’ll get with Blackstone and specifically ask them.

Here are are some data sheets for Mobil 0W40, Motul 8100 XMax 0W40 and LiquiMoly 0W40.

It seems that in previous Blackstone UOA that have been posted for Mobil 1 0W40, the viscosity for 210F has been below the low range.

You and I just happened to have the UOA done at ~2000 miles.

Your 210F viscosity number for the factory M1 was 68.2 and for the Motul it was 66.4 (range 65-78). I assume your range for the M1 on your first UOA was 63-76. If that’s the case, then the Mobil was closer to the mid range.

At 1935 miles, my 210F viscosity number for M1 was 65.7 with a stated range of 63-76. That is closer to the bottom of the range than your test. I filled the GTS with the same Mobil 0W40 and will have that retested. I will likely go with Motul 8100 XMax 0W40 or LiquiMoly 0W40.

Blackstone lists a 100C viscosity (This coverts to 212F, huh?) for your M1 test as 12.48. Mine tested at 11.80 with a listed range value of 11.1 to 14.8.
Blackstone reported a 100C viscosity form your Motul as 11.99 with a listed range of 11.6 to 15.3.

All that my untrained eye can conclude is that Mobil 1 tests better you your T than it did in my GTS. When driven to work I make sure the car gets up to normal oil temp of 196 but I drive about 5 miles each way to work.

The specs listed by each manufacturer for the 0W40 210F viscosity is
Mobil: 70.8. Blackstone listed the range as 63-76. (I initially thought that Mobil reversed the 2 numbers on their spec sheet it it seems that Blackstone reverses their numbers when comparing to Mobil, Motul and Liquimoly) Your M1 (68.2) and my M1 (65.7) are below the listed 70.8 number. Interesting that the average of the listed range for the 210F viscosity on the Blackstone UOA is 69.5.
Motul: 66.4. Blackstone listed the range as 65-78 on your posted report. That supplied number is almost at the bottom of the range.
LiquiMoly: 76. That looks like it would be the highest number of the 3 at the upper end of the range. I don’t know what the posted range would be according to Blackstone. Is the range a standard based on the fact that the oils are 0W40?

Can someone please chime in on the above numbers and thoughts on Motul and LiquiMoly based the spec sheets provided by the manufacturers?

If you feel that M1 0W40 is the best and plan an using that forever, please don’t clutter this thread. Thanks in advance.
