Actually, there is a narrow body GTS you can buy. It's called a Carrera S with X51 Power Kit. I bought a missed Carrera S 4 weeks ago, and I'm ordering an X51 Power Kit to convert it to the FTS engine spec. It's now available in the Porsche Configurator on a new S, or as an aftermarket kit for the S. But you must have PSE, or you can order it with the X51 Power Kit. Enjoy!

Oh yes, good point - I stand corrected: lost in the 991 jungle :-)

Thanks for the feedback. I might do a base c4 for the widebody and awd then go with the **************** turbo kit when it gets released. Seems like any way you go they are all good choices

A slightly different perspective:

99.9999% of the population don't know the difference between a base, an S, or a GTS. And, could care less. So, why bother?

Color is more important. If you're going to throw money at your car, put it there.

Because some of us drive cars for ourselves, not to show off to other people.

The question should be will you be happy with a GTS or should you buy a GT3

Seriously though, it depends on the kind of person you are. In terms of capability, I think the base Carrera's capabilities far exceed those of most of us as drivers. But that doesn't stop anyone from wanting more.

Good point but I want a manual and cant justify spending nearly 200k for a manual 991 gt3. if it was a pure track car I would but it's a dd

Always interesting to see how many base 911s are debadged.....if someone just wants to be “seen” more power to them. I happen to pay the extra for myself, could not care less if people got my 991 gts confused with a cayman.

Is it possible to do a x51 powerkit on the t since it's not a "s" model?

You may want to do some research on that boostaddict stuff.. There was a thread about it not long ago. I'd stay far far away, IMHO.

Yes you can but dealer wont warranty. Some dealers say they will. Just keep brakes in mind if you're choosing a sub S model. Brake and turbo upgrades you're already looking at roughly 10k pre labor.

Carrera T with larger turbos would be awesome. Lightest 911 you can buy.

Where do you live? These RWD cars have the most grip I've seen/driven. AWD not necessary if you live in a hot state.

That kit is fine. The kid who installed that was a broke ricer playing with dadas money. No wonder he disappeared.

Cobb has tuned a couple 991.2s with that kit. Over 600whp.

You won’t regret the GTS, assuming money is not a factor. You might regret the base mainly because of no path forward for the X51 Power Kit. Plus, to parrot others, the GTS in MT is just plain awesome.

Awesome. Any more info? I'm thinking awd will be needed if I go bigger turbos down the road (thinking 4 or 4s) I love the widebody.
