Either supply is running out or covid changed things.
If you get lucky you can find a fresh set for around 10K USD.
I have purchased from this seller before, he has a few sets

Hi, anyone in the northeast, preferably near Boston area with these seats that would be willing to let me sit in them to see if they are a good fit for me? I'm 6 to 6'1'' and about 190-200 pounds. Would reimburse with a good bottle of wine/ six pack of beer / coffee etc..I want to try them out before I spend 10K + install on them. Thanks!

As others have said, great thread! There are a number of DIY heroes here.
My seats are now in my 991.2 GTS.
One question: has anyone successfully coded a solution to the airbag? I read the entire thread, and could not find anyone who had a successful coding solution. My installer was unable to code it out.
The outstanding work by marinb will be my Plan B, but the complexity of that is somewhat over my head.
Any information on success with coding would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Cage looks great! (Also, I think in the Schroth manual it says the belts should cross at the rear? Please double check your manual for the install. It also depends on length to the rear bar.)
I did talk to someone that coded out a 991.1, but I haven't heard of anyone (yet) coding out a 991.2.

Thanks @marinb I will post some better pictures at some point.
I think you're right on the belts, I will have to change that.
As installed (just "plug and play"), the seatbelt buckle indicator works, and surprisingly (to me), the seat heaters work. Airbag light is on of course, and I assume that the thorax airbag would not fire.
I am hopeful that the B-pillar and main frontal airbags would still deploy, but I have no way to verify this of course. I'm going to take it to my friendly dealer to get a readout of the error codes (probably the same as yours) and then go from there.

Somewhat off-topic, posting here due to the seat expertise.
I have base 2-Way seats and full buckets from Carnewal. I used the coding method to take care of the electronics with the buckets I'm considering pickup up a set of sports seats plus. Most I see for sale are 18-Way.
Will these be plug and play, or are there wiring differences between the 2-Way, 14-Way, 18-Way, etc.?

In what car do you have the buckets installed, and specifically how did you code out the airbag issues?
(sorry, I can't answer the question you posed)
pic for attention!

Mine are in a 981. I had a local independent Porsche specialty shop do the coding. I called three, all said they could do it. All are heavily involved in race support, etc.
I suggest calling a couple of similar shops in your area and see what they have to say.

Just received my 991 folding bucket seats from Carnewal for my 981 CS.
Question: Do I need new bolts to attach the seat belts to the seat frame (routed through the lap belt hole in the seats), or can I just reuse the existing bolt and spacer (part number 999 510 048 01) which bolts the belt to the chassis?
Thanks!
