Oh I hear you, totally accurate! Your peace of mind at the end of the day is most important. We have some customers who don't mind the night in the garage swapping to stock if necessary, as was expressed to me my one customer who will take any excuse he can get to escape the wife and kids

So what is the real world experience of how often if ever you get a CEL with this configuration? From the instructions install looks like it wouldn’t be too hard a DIY - how much space is needed - can it be done with the rear end on stands or do you reall need the whole car on a lift to do easily?

Nope, it's only a couple bolts on each side and you can access them with the wheels on. That said, taking the wheels off is so quick and easy we usually just take them off so we aren't turning around and whacking our head into a wheel when working under the car haha. Also allows use of a 1/4in impact in the wheel area which saves a little time versus hand tools.

Also since we are having a healthy discussion, wanted to throw a wrench in this and see where it goes... bare with me!
The OEM cats seem to have two distinct pipes directly from the cats piping to the exhaust, while the Soul cats have one single exit that splits into two later on. Would this technically be less efficient and blocking airflow? I notice the AWE cats also have similar design to OEM. Since airflow seems rather important here (see the header thread, i think we are about to give out nobel prizes to airflow engineers over there), how big of a difference would this make here?

Personally I'm not a fan of the OEM design and believe this design meets the goals of the product quite well. For your reference, open discussions online on technical topics like this I usually stay away from. Everyone is their own expert on the internet, and at the end of the day it is a massive time soak for information most people don't have the education to make a decision for themselves which is correct. That said, I shot you a PM to chat about it as I'm always up for a much more timely and efficient call to discuss it.

Our single primary tube design routes the gasses primarily through the large pipe for the best possible flow into the muffler with valves open – which is where you want good power. Akrapovic has also designed theirs as such. The secondary tube comes off the primary as it does to offer an effective reduction in sound with valves closed. The focus was power with valves open, and a reserved tone with valves closed. We dyno tested our cats at AWE Tuning’s facility and in side by side comparisons vs their cats the power gains are similar.

I just had these installed on my 18' GTS. Sound amazing, Not too loud, but way better than stock. Goldilocks just right. In PSE nice burble without being overkill, definitely a head turner. Indy shop took 2.5 hrs labor all in
said access was more difficult than they thought, however 1st new 991.2 they had done install on and they were being extra careful. Wasn't expecting , but could definitely sense a bit of a seat of the pants performance gain - seemed to rev quicker which stands to reason.

Any way of telling if the units being manufactured and sold now have overcome the fitment issue that previously existed ?
For customer peace of mind they should be marked as Gen 2 or something like that as proof that they are the "real deal".

I spoke to one of the managers there and they said all old design stock is out of their and distributors supply train. They are a pretty small outfit and run fairly tight production to inventory.

Nice to see, and especially nice to see someone that does not cover up their license plate...never understood why people do that.
