Get PCCBs.
The biggest mistake I did when I spec my GTS that I did not spec PCCBs.

In EU most of the options can be added later in in the car under Tequipment original accessories through your dealer.

But there are some that you cannot add no matter how much money you will pay.
PCCB, RAS, FAL (depends where you live but it adds weight and complexity in the front of the car)) I consider a must for a new spec GTS.

ACC I do not think is required in a Carrera GTS. Cruise control is more than enough.

LCA not required. I drive a car for 1500 miles with it and I did not spec it. I do not miss it. GTS has very good views around you.

 

Interesting to hear that 991.2 model will still be built as late as May/June 2019. I understand that 992 models will be delivering about the same time as your 991.2.

4-ways are my favorite by far. And I had buckets in GT4 and GT3 and 18 ways in TTS. And I agree with you 100% on the PCCBs. I skipped a bunch of nonessentials and just took PCCBs and RAS on my T. Both a must, but especially the ceramics.

This is going to be my first Porsche purchase. I went on the Porsche USA site, and began building the 911 GTS. Once completed, I noticed the build is for a 2019 model. I contacted my local dealership and they advised due to Covid / manufacturing circumstances I would have to be placed in allocation.
Dealer mentioned the GTS may be a 2021 model and not 2020. My question is, is the 2021 model 911 GTS going to have the newer body like the new 992? When I built out the specs of the 2019, the images showed the older body in comparison to the new 992 body style.

Any information would greatly be appreciated.

 

It will be a 992 gen. The last 991.2 anything rolled off the assembly line months ago. From then on out it was 992. They released the Carrera/S, Targa, and Turbo S already, so more models will be coming soon. But the GTS is usually an end of lifecycle model, so I don't think you'll see it until at least 2022, probably later than that. About a year or so before they refresh to 992.2. Not sure if the timing has changed, but that's how it's always been. Also, the builder is for a 991.2 so it's useless right now since the car is now unattainable new and the options and pricing will all change for the 992 911 GTS

 

Thanks for the information. The dealer here in Pasadena, CA mentioned they are hopeful the vehicle will be a 2021 model released in 2020. This kind of sucks... having to wait for it.

I could be wrong about this theory of mine, but I think Porsche still allows customers to build 'old' models if there is sill unsold inventory throughout the US.

If you were to take your 2019 build to a dealer, and they were willing to work for you, they could pull up the 2019 GTS models still unsold throughout the country and try to get you something close to your build.

Or, you can check on Porsche's website and pull up GTSs to see whats out there.
Don't put in your zip code, that way you get hits all across the country.
This would also eliminate the middleman and you could negotiate directly with the selling dealer.

Like I said, just a theory, I could be completely wrong.

Thanks for the information. Appreciate it. However, Im not interested in the 2019 911 GTS. I would prefer the newer gen body GTS. Looks like, there are no 2020 models available or are not even building as of yet.

The 991.2 GTS model is no longer being built. Although Porsche continues to keep them on the configurator. As mentioned above there may be a few left on dealer lots. If you're looking for a 992 GTS, my guess is that they'll be unveiled early next year and available during the last half of 2021 as a 2022 model year. Happy waiting!
