I have a Golf R w/ a piggyback tune (about 350 HP). It's a great daily driver but it's nothing like a 911

That’s incredible and unheard of for such a new car that sells at such volume. And in itself encapsulates the sheer allure that is the .1.

#2’s can keep the OMG TORKS BRAH. I’ll take desirability.

991.1 prices fluctuate and vary from store to store, and state to state. The influx in prices is falsely inflated by dealerships.

You can pay 90-100K for a poorly optioned 15/16 C2S at a Porsche dealership or you can pay 70-75K for a loaded C4S at carmax who will sell you a warranty just as good as CPO for under 3k. You can also find 15/16 GTS models on Carmax every once in a while for in the 90k range. Porsche dealers will ask 115K+ and they'll market it like it's a GT3.

Whats the difference? The Porsche dealer will tell you its the last of its kind blah blah and the Carmax dealer won't say a word.

100K is a joke for this build:
https://www.porschescottsdale.com/de...-17338597.html

Ultimately 991.1 prices will end up holding steady but will still depreciate a fair amount. Especially when we start seeing 2-3 year old .2's coming back from leases and trades. The main difference between a 13 and some 14 carreras and a 15/16 is some crappy parking sensors and a camera. Worth the 20K in price difference? Fools gold.

I don't think any 991 is going to be a collector car, but it does stand to reason that the .1 will retain an allure among those enthusiasts who are focused on the exhaust note. Just a matter of preference, but I've never liked the subdued turbo exhaust note. I find even the .1 note too digitized compared to my air-cooled 911's, where the exhaust note conveys a real personality through the RPM range.

To be fair, the car had an accident prior to my purchase (repaired to by Porsche dealer body shop) and I knew it was a very good deal at the time especially since it had a $12k TechArt kit on it. I figured that the price would always be towards the bottom end of the 991.1 market so I wouldn't lose much if anything if I sold it in the future. But the market has been very strong on the bottom end IMO and there are very few 991S under $60k anywhere, let alone with $125k build and full TechArt kit. For someone that doesn't mind the accident history, even at $66k it still seems like a good deal today.

Exactly, and once the 992s roll out and render the .2s worthless/obsolete due their utter inferiority the last of the NA cars will appreciate again and I will sell and put my 4 kids through grad school.

They can't wait...

Hi all,
Just for reference, I bought my 14 C2 exactly 2 years ago for $68K. There were better deals for identical builds but I chose mine because the color choice.

The other her day I searched Porsche site for used cars and could not believe that cars with similar build BUT with much higher mileage are going for almost at the price I paid 2 years ago😦 something strange going on...

my car:
purchase price: 68k
2014 C2 with CPO
purchased exactly 2 years after in service day(April 2016)
Msrp $105K
millage: 4K
Pdk, sport crono, Bose, 18 way, guards red etc.....

Haven’t posted anything in a month of Sunday’s but this is an interesting topic to me. I’ve had my “ridiculously slow” ‘14 c2s for nearly a year and a half and it’s just as special to me now as the day I bought it. I could get myself a 991.2 base or s but it ain’t gonna happen. If I decide to trade up it will be a 991.1 GTS or nothing even though I love the AMG GT s. I have noticed the value of the 991.1’s are really strong and rightfully so imo. Also I DO NOT ride around with my spoiler up anymore! Lol! Not there is anything wrong with it. I also know we belong to a special club as 911 owners and regardless of year or trim I love all Porsche 911’s because there really is no substitute.

Believe it. 991.1’s are legends on their own merit, but Porsche extended owners a gift when they discontinued N/A Carrera’s.

That is, of course, until you may find yourself back on the car hunt and realize their literally, is no substitute. Unless, of course, you’re ready to splurge GT prices.
