I follow the Lotus mantra of less is more. So with that, the following has always served me well for initial things to do to most cars that will see regular canyon driving and an occassional track day. I start with the weight loss. I'm waiting on my Anti-Gravity battery that will cut about 35+ lbs. More weight loss and a bit gimmicky, titanium wheel bolts (were talking ounces here). Difference maker, probably not, even if lowering rotational mass. However, they look and feel really cool!

Next would be the brake rotors and pads. I typically go with GiroDiscs for most of my cars, but I may try these on the porsche: https://www.essexparts.com/essex-des...-replace-330mm For pads, believe it or not, Ferodo DS2500's have served me well given I daily drive the T (well kinda, I still have to drive the Alfa until it sells). Then lastly, I go to power upgrades. I go mild usually in this area, but tentatively, headers, some form of exhaust upgrade, and typically high-flow filter of some sorts (i.e. K&N, BMC,etc.).

The brakes are fine on the T for DE. As always, stopping is always a combination of tires, brake pads, rotors, suspension and electronics (abs). The T brakes will outperform any tires 100 rating or higher. BMW IMSA race cars still run with 350mm (only 20mm more than a T) and 4 piston calipers. So if they can run with this on a race car, stock rotors are fine for DE.
for DE, replace your pads, fluid, brake lines, and ensure the cooling ducts are in place. Should be plenty.

When I got it, it was actually at the Porsche dealership next door. It's all the same group (Bob Moore Auto Group). I still don't know what the real story is, but they claim the guy bought new from them, then brought it back 6 months later to get a better "auto crossing" car (TTRS). That's how it got to the Audi dealer next door. Then the Porsche dealer thought it would be easier for them to sell it. SO, they took it from their sister Audi store.

Awesome! I tried to get them to do the same, but they wouldn't budge or give me a CPO on it so I decided on a T down in SoCal. Guess they got tired of looking at it sit on the lot... Congrats!

I love it, the plot thickens. Check this out, I got it with all of the remaining factory warranty and it was CPO'd. I have all of the CPO paperwork, and my local Irvine dealer confirmed all is legit given they could see everything in their system. So, clearly there's a story here that I guess none of us will ever know. At the end of the day, the car had 4700 miles on it when I picked it up, it had everything you could ask for (Carrera T interior, CF buckets, Sports Chrono, PDK - my wife wanted it!), and was in pretty new condition barring a few nicks on the wheels and one tiny nick on the rear bumper. I basically negotiated with them (that's polite speak for haggled like crazy) for about 6 weeks and finally got to $86.5K. A couple of plane tickets, some hotel and food expenses for me and a buddy, 2 days of driving, 1 speeding ticket (my buddy of course), and it's now in sunny so cal. I swear, when we pulled into my garage, the car thanked me in German! It's freaking cold in OKC this time of year!

That’s awesome and so glad they sold it through the Porsche side so you could hold on to the CPO! I was thinking it might’ve been a PEC car, but who knows. Big win either way!

100% agree with this. Stopping power is perfectly fine even in extreme threshold braking.

Are you talking about the stock cooling ducts or aftermarket? I have been researching this over the past few weeks and the only ones I can find are these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/PORSCHE-OEM...-/263110731833 but im not sure if these are just standard or upgraded parts. On a hot day im getting pretty excessive fade after 15-20 mins track work.

Any advice on ducts/cooling appreciated!

FWIW - The standard brakes on the T are tire limited IMHO. I looked long and hard at the AP racing Radi-Cals, and my conclusion was unless you are running better than PZeros / MPS4S / Cup2's, I don't think you'll notice a difference in upgraded brakes. I still might go for the AP brakes, but more for the mass savings, improved look, and ease of pad changes than anything else.

What are people who track their car using for track wheels? My T has the rear axle steering, and I would like to get a separate set of wheels for the track. Are 19's for sure a no go?

I have not been able to find any 19s to fit with RWS as of yet...I wish they would fit, I have a set of rear 19 inch te37's that I cant use

What 20" wheels do you use then? It's hard to find some with a high rear offset like stock (ET76)

I’m still on stock until I can find a decent deal on some that work and are lighter.
