Here’s a life tip: don’t quote anything you do not understand.
Yeah, you quoted it, but you have no clue what it means.

Easy, everyone. This is the thread to debate the love for the T. Not holding companies.

In more relevant news, I got my T out this past week - before the rains came. First real drive of the year. Bring on summer.

Agreed BlackOptic. And my apologies.

Went for a couple of drives this weekend. I finally went past 2000 miles. I did a few launches and noticed some major grinding going into second gear. I've read a few posts on this but not anything recent. I know I'm not doing anything wrong. Been a manual driver for 30 years. Going to take the T in to have it checked out this week hopefully. A real bummer since I just past the break in period and now this.

Anyone else hear of this or had any issues?

On hard 1st - 2nd shifts I shift a little bit early as the few times I some what missed 2nd and it make a little grinding sound. I think i was just getting used to the gear box.

Man I hope that’s what it is.

It’s really unnerving. When you say shift early, what’s your RPM? I’m shifting around 6K.

Car and oil all warmed up? For sure, the 1 to 2 shift is the trickiest. Clunky at first, but better when warm. No grinding for me.

Yup. Happens after about an hour and half of spirited driving even. 190+ degrees for oil.

On rare occasion u can miss the gate. The car reminds you that you arent in the right hole.... much more common if youve been pounding on it for a long time and youre tired.

I’m pretty sure I’m not missing the gate. But you never know. Would rather have it be me than the transmission.

I think I was just getting used to the gates at first. Prob waiting to high on the rpm 6500 Temp always above 190 if i get on it for sure. In general the box is awesome and I could not be happier. I know people rate the 6 speed as the - and all & be all but the 7 it almost not there unless you feel like hitting curse control on the turnpike with no traffic.

I definitely love the 7MT outside of this grinding issue. We’ll see what the dealer says.
