On a GT (sports front facia) car I would think FAL would be basically mandatory. For the lip on a T, you just need to be careful. But if I had to choose between RAS and FAL, I would go with the latter! (Full disclosure: I don't have either. And I don't mean to get in an argument about the virtues of RAS - I don't have it, and it seems to drive just fine. :-) )

You are right. RAS is not needed for great handling. Now, on the other hand, if you want SUBLIME handling...

Ervin, do you live in Canada, are you a Porsche dealer, do you have a GT 3?
Porsche do hold value better than a similar brand, Maserati. Your dealer could be preventing you from working with another dealership. Which city are you in? I live in Canada, I am not a Porsche dealer, I do not have a GT3.

I would never buy a car w/ FAL. The weight penalty would not be worth it. The only reason why I would get it would be ease of (un)loading on and off trailers. RAS is a must.

Depends... If is your DD car you need FAL.
Indeed weight and complexity makes situation not ideal for a pure Sports Car.

RAS is must especially for Porsche newbies as rear engine cars needs big ***** to press the pedal in the middle of the corner in order to turn fast...

No matter FAL or RAS a 911 will be always a legendary car.

FAL = Daily T
RAS+FAL = "Why Not" T
0 = pure Purist T

Below is a link to a T in CA in the most “unpure” possible configuration.... and I like it!

Wow, how much weight does FAL add to the car?

If I'm not wrong, I read somewhere that it adds around 20 lbs. I would say that is not that much for the usefulness it adds. It is actually way less than the additional weight of the 14 or 18 way seats, and I don't see anyone complaining about the weight penalty for that. 4-way are much lighter (60 lbs less?) and more comfortable. If anything, weight above the front wheels may actually be better on a 911.

^^^ I think it's not the magnitude of the mass, but rather that the mass is technically unsprung, so it's a bigger issue w.r.t. handling. Honestly, I drove a lot of cars with FAL and I couldn't notice a difference in handling. RAS on the other hand was obvious.

I didn't opt for FAL because my 993 was at the same ride height, and I drove it for 17 years only scraping the front a handful of times (and I had a front protection bar). So far, same with the T.

Didn’t someone post a picture of a T with the lift down and it was about 6 inches? The gt3/rs is around 4.25 or 4.5 inches and less than 6 with the lift up. I can’t see why you’d really need lift on a T if it really is 6 inches. Many people get by without it on the gt cars.

Adding a little weight ( ie 20lb) to the front axle is not a bad thing IMO. It shouldn't affect nimbleness of the car and might increase your chances of keeping the front wheels on the pavement when you're driving ballztothewall. Its about the same weight as the bose, which I didnt get because it doesn't make the car faster and doesn't improve driveability. Also the FAL option makes your wallet lighter so you should recoup some of the weight difference there,.... LOL

If you want to buy a T get is as simple as possible. This is the reason of T creation. To be a simple fun to drive car.

In case someone looks for leather interior, FAL, Bose, rear camera etc I believe is looking to the wrong version of 911.

The only options I would spec to a T it will be LWB and RAS as I am new in 911s.
