Thoughts on Park assist function

I'm extremely pleased to have it. It was hard to judge the back of the prior 911s that didn't have it, especially on the rare occasion I'd need to parallel parking or back up to something. It works quite well and shows you an approximation of the shapes you are getting close to. My new car has the rear camera as well which is a nice plus, but I doubt I'd get a car without the sensors anymore.
It also helps me back the car into a more stowed away position in the garage so that our daily-driven SUV's doors can't swing close... just to be safer.

I hate the dimples on the bumper cover. I was forced into it on my rear bumper, since it comes standard there on the cabriolet.

Park assist and backup camera both came standard on my 991.2 C2 GTS. I've never had either one before and have managed quite well all these years without them. I don't look at the screen while backing up, I always look behind me. The sensor beeping annoys me no end and I generally push the button to turn it off. So, these like most safety nannies (ABS excepted) are totally wasted on me!

On a 121k car, I'm glad I have the camera and sensors. It's great for paralleling parking (yes I do that in my car... )
I also have a tiny 87 year old garage and I need the sensors (don't like the tennis ball on the string thing).

Sometime over all the years that these have been on cars, my eyes have become blind to them when they are nicely done like on most high end cars. Once that was out of the way the functionality won me over.
It probably influences my opinion that twice over the years before sensors I tapped a nice car into something behind me and those marks weren't nearly as pretty as the sensors.

Had park assist on my 09 Targa(a must in a Targa). Have both on my 17 911 Cab S. I could do without the camera, but not the sensors.

I like the sensors. The 991 isn't like the older 911's where you could almost reach out and touch the ends of the bumpers. It's a large car and despite driving one for two years I still don't have a good intuitive sense of when I'm too close. Probably never will.

Love it. Lack of a backup camera/assist in my RS drove me nuts. I like to back in to parking spots.

I am glad I have them. No backup camera in mine, so the sensors come in handy each morning as I swerve out of my garage, arching around my daughters car parked in the driveway behind mine. Good to know if I am cutting it close just how much room I really have.

My 991.1 C2 has a rear camera and front and rear parking assist. The parking assist sensors and display seems slow to react, but the car's corners are out of view from the driver's seat, so the system is quite helpful if you take your time in parking lot maneuvers.
