Other than the controversial motor choices, most would agree the 991.2 has some nice refinements over the first gen. Are there relatively simple mods that can be made to make the .1 feel more like a .2? (Please refrain from motor comments.)

tailights... door handles... front bumper? if you like that....

I think you get 80% of a 991.2 just by getting Apple carplay which can be done now.
The other 15% you can't get is rear steering... so nice..

and thats about it.
(not a fan of the 9A2 Motor) turbo is turbo to me.. shrug..

Love the Carrera T wish it had a NA motor... still would buy one.
Speaking of which I think there is a bigger case than ever to buy a base 911 over the S in the 991.2..

and thread highjack, sorry

Much of it it placebo honestly. Like saying that brand new tires are quieter and better than the worn out ones you just took off. My <9K mile 991.1 has less rattles and is more planted than a friend's 38K 2017.

#2 cars are quieter because of the engine partially - I know I brought up the engine.... and that makes a huge difference in the refinement characteristic.

Stereo is light years better but I don't think you can retrofit.

RAS is a game changer, I'd retrofit that if I could for 10-12K.

That didn't take long. LMAO.

OP: Good luck. I don't think you can do a whole lot of "simple" mods to make the car a 991.2. They are already 90% similar. Get a new hood with the creases?

In fairness - we was talking about reasons for refinement and you cannot have that conversation without the engine. It's not a discussion of power, speed, exhaust sound, linearity, etc. Just refinement in the Cabin. My dyson is quieter and vibrates less than any of my gas powered or 2 cycle yard engines.

Doesn't the .2 have changes in shifter, steering feel, and suspension?

Speculation - parts are the same outside of programming for steering feel.

Shifter, pedals, suspension and chassis are all just newer - again like comparing a new tire to old worn out ones.

Brakes are a little bigger - more laughable that people fuss about the base brakes on the #2 cars.
RAS - complete game changer in turns.

Sound is much muted in the new cars - largely because of the engine.

I really like the 991.2 front bumper and fog lights. Have no clue if that can be retrofitted to the 991.1.

Quick thought here- anything but the most superficial mods on a .1 are going to be expensive and may seriously diminish the car's value. Those of you hankering for the wonders of the .2 should just trade your .1 for a moderately used .2, They are stupid cheap, and you'll do well selling the .1.

Yes absolutely it does. None of it is placebo as the guy below me mentioned. There is actually a lot of changes on the .2. R Rated literally goes into every .2 to bash on the car in some way or another and gets called out. He literally has no idea what he's talking about. The guy is purely in denial. I have never seen someone who copes to his level over a newer/refreshed car model. He must be suffering from massive buyers remorse or something. He recently made a thread coping hard about the .2 guys modding their turbo's and how "grand tour" debunked it in some way. Thread is missing all of a sudden.

Anywho, I'm writing all this out to help you and others on this forum. Nobody likes bad/wrong information that's heavily biased. No need for that garbage around here.

To answer your thread:

Center console armrest on the .2 is larger(you can store more items) and taller by an inch. Little more comfortable to rest your arm on.

Bezel-less rearview

Steering wheel w/airbag is a big one.

Front bumper with DRL LED's (expensive)

Not sure if there are parts or coding out there for the improved electric steering/suspension. My .2 GTS rides better(sportier and more comfortable) than a .1C4S both PDCC GTS has SPASM. There's definitely a change.

.2 Horn is also different

I honestly see no reason converting cosmetics whatsoever.
