My situation exactly but I opted to wait for the right MT to come along, took me an extra year give or take a few hours...

Well said, I agree with all that you have said! Including upgrading the stock "****" to the Function First aluminum ****, much improved feel (may be a placebo effect, but I still like it!)
My 2013 C2 coupe is my 24th Porsche over the last 50 years (yikes) , and all but one have been manuals. Seems to be a pattern here.
Recently had the pleasure of helping my son look for his first Porsche, and test drove a 997.2 C2S, 6 speed MT, and yes if I had to choose, it was a more satisfying tool for me.
Good news is we have a ton of good choices.
