MT for me
No offense to PDK - it's a remarkable system. I had a 2015 Cayman S with PDK. Began doing tasteful mods, but over time I came to the realization that the PDK (even if "shifting the gears" myself) made me feel more "removed" from the driving experience. It was that conclusion that made me want to get into another car. Now, although I'll never be able to shift as fast as a PDK, I'm enjoying the driving experience a lot more.

Drifting
I love my PDK. I too live in So Cal and although I only spend about an hour a day in the car (20 minutes in the morning, 40 minutes in the evening), having PDK is fantastic for stop and go traffic. Even in great driving conditions, I prefer PDK but I did not grow up driving MT cars, so I don't appreciate the manual transmission experience like many of you do. I can drive a manual but it doesn't really do it for me. If I get a GT3 allocation, I will probably get a - gasp! - PDK.

Three Wheelin'
I only have to deal with 5-10 minutes of true LA-like traffic here in Calgary (and not necessarily every day), so I find the MT is fine in those situations. I do feel for you guys, I'd probably have a PDK if I had to contend with that every day!

Previously owned 996 MT and 997.1 C4 MT. I was debating between PDK and MT for my 991 C4. Bought a Macan S before I made my 991 purchase. As good as it is, the Macan convinced me that there is no way I wanted PDK in my 911. To each his own.

So many MTs. Something is fishy.
My dealer seems to stock one stick for every 10 PDKs.

Excellent!
I dunno about that, they still make vettes in stick and ACR Vipers were stick... I think as long as there is a market, someone will cater to it. Especially as day to day cars become more electrified and self driving, I think weekend cars will be even more free to stick to traditional raw and manual options.
