991T shoppers don't wear watches. Watches add weight.

Exactly. And when they do wear watches, they wear ones that run fast, you know, because of the lower gearing.

Good point about the ETA but IWC and others seem to get away with it (maybe not $13k worth...) but stripping the name goes against the very grain of a luxury good...

Not titanium with a NATO strap.

IWC used ETA movements in their watches for many years - I think some models may still use them. And I believe the watches they branded for Porsche Design had ETA movements.

Rolex Daytona what else would a watch and car guy wear? Certainly not a Porsche Design watch!

Don't y'all know that any and all questions about watches can be answered with the magic word "speedy"?

In the fine words of someone on the GT forum, watches are for people who can't tell time from an Iphone

Mine is PVD and has an ETA movement. Retail SHOULD be about 3K and not 15K.... (for mine).

The older Porsche watches are worth some money however; they were also made by IWC.
I'd be surprised if anyone paid $6800 for that. I think it was made by Eterna that Porsche design ultimately bought.

I've always thought the same but they are extremely reliable and easy to repair however don't carry the same cache as an in house movement. $15-20,000 Hublot Big Bang.......ETA. That one surprised me. Many IWC and older Panerai etc etc. Each company customizes the movement to suit their brand
