I have a 2018 with PDLS and optioned the black nozzles during the transition period. I was actually pleasantly surprised that they were missing all together when I picked up my car. It was a weight savings thing. There is a thread on this rennlist forum on this point.
Cool! I did not know that and neither does my SA. He told me adding PDLS added the washers and increased the size of the wiper fluid reservoir/pump. But I guess that was 2017 info.

Good to know they killed the system altogether for 2018. I never saw the point.

I'd go GT4 for sure if I didn't need the back seat for occasional kid-hauling!

I went to my local dealer to test drive a base 991.2 to see if I like the motor. I had called in about the carerra T the day after it was announced. My SA showed me their allocation sheet and they only have 1 Carrera T through May because their allocations for 911s in general have been low lately. I'm not sure if I'm gonna pull the trigger but I'm curious if anyone has talked pricing and been able to negotiate a discount.

the LWBs for the Carrera T are so tempting but I agree if you’re gonna go that route you have to consider a GT4 instead... are the LWBs not able to slide forward enough to still have back seats for occasional child hauling?

Had the last GT4 and it was an amazing machine but got bored of it. Love the rear engine layout of the 911 just more challenging. Then again my spec puts it in .1 GT3 range too, but I have to give up the stick.

I totally get this line of thought but it really isn't that simple is it? You do not simply get a GT allocation unless you've been on the list a while before launch and even then it's not guaranteed. I've had a deposit down for one at my local dealer for over 6 months and I get the impression my chances of actually receiving one are not very good.

On the other hand, I already have a Carrera T allocation for a January build date if I want it. We don't even know when the gt4 will be released, if it will be a RS or not, and how much it will cost with reasonable options. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, as they say.

Are they limiting allocations on the T variant more than others? Say Targas? I would think that being lower down the price ladder they would want to give as many allocations as possible...

With the LWB slid all the way forward, there is about a 4-5 inch gap between the seat back and the B pillar. So no way to fit a human through that space. Can't even get a bag through there. Would have to sneak a bag into the back shelf through the space between the front seats.

I think the issue right now is there are not that many 911 allocations period. At least that seems to be the case here.

Porsche is building a ton of GT3s to meet the demand and less Carreras period. If you really want a GT3, you can get one you just have to pay some ADM. $15k over would get you a car. The ones delivered thus far and sitting on the lot so to speak seem to be in the $25-35k over range.

For some reason the allocations for all variants of Carrera and Turbo are all hard to come by. Not sure what happened but this allocation based system sucks.

Should be the customers who tell PAG how many cars they want instead of PAG decide how many they can have.

Agree completely. But we also don't know or see the whole picture either. Allocations may be limited in the US because more allocations have been shifted to China (who knows?).

There is only one 911 factory with X capacity. That X capacity has to be be divided up between all the countries where 911s are sold. It's difficult from our vantage point to understand the supply/demand for each of these countries.
