I do love this thread… keeps reminding me how awesome and fortunate we are to own this amazing car. Added another New Years resolution: another set of wheels with winters or at least all season rubber so I can enjoy it more in the winter months.
cheers to a wonderful year!

if you’re referring to the build sheet. I’m pretty sure Suncoast offers it for a very reasonable price in PDF format. Requires VIN.

Interesting, you tinted your running lights in the front. I tinted my brake lights in the back--considered doing the front lights too but in the end didn't. Still might someday--though maybe not that dark. Though if you were going to do anything, why do it to the front bumper lights and not the side turn signals?
Gorgeous car of course.

I drove my 2016 GTS cab to and from work today. What a brilliant car. Mine is a PDK. I can see where this car would be a total blast to drive with a 7-speed manual but when I spec'd my car in 2015, I did not know how to drive a manual. Go figure, I now daily a manual (991.2 Touring). Getting back in the PDK GTS, this car is SO MUCH FUN to drive, especially with the top down. I drove home this afternoon with the top down and the sound of the engine, the smell of the oil, the linearity of the engine's power delivery - all pure bliss. Quite frankly, I was not missing my Touring and I absolutely adore my Touring.
On RL, at least, I think I am one of the few who have both a 991.1 GTS and a 991.2 Touring. For those who are considering one or the other, I have to say that for the price delta, I think the 991.1 GTS is the way to go. An excellent example of a 991.1 GTS will go for over $100,000. An excellent example of a 991.2 Touring will go for $200,000++. Is the price delta really worth $100,000? The short answer is...no. All of that being said, if I had to keep one, it would be the Touring but I am in the position where I own them both. If I were cross-shopping and had neither, I would suggest taking a 991.1 GTS and pocketing the $100,000 or more by foregoing the Touring. The GTS is that good.

And although .2 Touring Is the Ultimate 911 in my mind, the delta between the Touring and my .1 GTS remained at $100-$110K (an almost 100% premium over my GTS) and I am certain I will one day try to get a touring in my garage, I could NOT justify a 100% premium over the .1 N/A GTS. It is truly one for the ages, what an amazing and sometimes under appreciated (by some) car.

I’m at a crossroads. Curious who uses theirs in inclement weather? Who takes theirs to the track? I’m torn on what to do. First 3 options are in the ballpark of +$80-90K. 4th is just faster depreciation
Of course there’s no right or wrong answer… these are all 1st world “problems” that comes down to personal preferences. I’m simply putting this all here out of curiosity. Have a great weekend!
- Go the GT3 route, sell the GTS. The threads above comparing the GTS and Touring is relevant to me too. I’ve been sitting on a GT3 spot for a couple years now at my local dealer. I was actually #2 for GT4RS but had moved my deposit to a GT3 spot as the 4RS was still a mythical creature at the time - hindsight ugh! The 992 GT3/T look and sound amazing. I would love a GT3 or T, but still think its too premature of a move. I still have young ones, which means only one with me and less driving it. There is no masking of either version as “its just a 911” which I might hesitate driving it to certain places
- Keep the GTS for track and spirited errand runs, get a new Macan GTS. The GTS has been to several tracks. I drive it to and from. It’s more touring than track, though it does great IMO on track for what it is. We have 3 kids. They love “riding in daddy’s race car”. Adding the Macan GTS would be a fun, spirited crossover with room to bring my wife along. We use her SUV or mine when its the 5 of us. Macan would replace my SUV. If using the GTS more for track, would likely keep ”improving” it for track use which usually compromises road use and depending what’s done, resale.
- Keep GTS for DD use, get a 981 GT4 for track. Use the GTS more regularly. Saw a 993 the other day just driving along through all the road salt and thought to myself: “why do I only drive my car on sunny days above 45 degrees” Sell my SUV, use the GTS to haul the kids around, run all my errands… solo ski day… get a roof carrier and drive it to the mountains. Get back into a 981GT4, which I miss, for track days and spirited drives. Mod the 981 for its purpose - this path (which I’ve gone down pre-kids) likely leads to getting a trailer.
- GTS only. DD, use it more in any weather, and track it. Get a second set of wheels/tires for track use. Keep it balanced for road manners and track use - don’t go down the mod path. Use it more often for getting to the mountains and in the spring/summer to/from tracks.

I use my GTS for everything. Fun, kids to school, Costco runs. Also have an SUV but that's generally the wife's ride, but usually I have the choice to take the sensible DD or the GTS, and the GTS wins every time unless the ground is frozen. If you only have the GTS I don't see how depreciation is a concern since you'd have more cars and more costs with all those options, blowing away the equivalent depreciation.
But don't do it for the money. Same as you, losing the back seat would mean way fewer chances to drive the GTS and I wouldn't want to give that up.

How many miles do you have on yours if you don’t mind me asking? I’m at 35,xxx. Good call out on the depreciation. I was trying to come up with something for #4. The other options add more running costs and the Macan would have the most depreciation. Ground is frozen here, salt everywhere from the recent snow. I saw a 599 caked in salt today while out running errands in the SUV. I need to just do it, get a second set of wheels/tires to drive during the winter months.

Just joined the Porsche club with my new to me ‘16 991.1 GTS. All I can say is WOW! I’ve always wanted a 911 and almost pulled the trigger on a .2 C2S a couple years ago…. but got distracted with all the brew-haha about the mid-engine corvette (I.e., everyday supercar).
After a lot of anticipation and 18+ months after putting down a deposit, I took delivery of my 2022 C8 z51 hard-top convertible. I knew after a few weeks that it wasn’t for me. In fact, all I could think about was my 991 test drives a couple years back.
I knew what I needed to do… and after a week of obsessing, I found this CPO’d beauty which I made a straight out the door trade for. I literally open the garage daily to just look at her and smile, and find myself constantly thinking about my next joyride.
I look forward to getting to know the 911 ownership community, and decades of smiles and miles!

Welcome to the club
i am on my 3rd .1 N/A in 4 years and I can’t think of a 911 without an N/A engine. To be fortunate enough to end up with the last year of the glorious and most developed/refined and evolved Carrera N/A is simply cherry on top.
