I have been researching both Napa leather steering wheel covers, and came across a video of Craft Customs that did a full service replacing of a 991.1 sport steering wheel.

Figured I’d ask fellow RL’ers for some advice here… anyone make any changes to upgrade the feeling of their steering wheel?
The "slippery" feeling is just all the grease from the hands. No need of magic cleaner. Jus use some dishsoap, and a soft tooth brush, and a microfiber cloth to wipe it after brushing. It will return to original brand new feel. I have leather steering wheel on GTS but have used this method to clean alcantara on many other cars.

I have alcantara steering on my Cayman S, wife's cayenne GTS has GTS Alcantara package and I have kept all of the above looking new and fresh using Sonax Alcantara Cleaner. It's pricey but truly works wonders.

I was skeptical of all the Alcantara in an SUV which we have used for all family trips for 6+ yrs now, and it has stood the test of time. My kids were 13 and 14 at the time, we also had a 4 yr old... all grew up in that car with Alcantara on all seats, it still looks great , dare I say looks the same as when we bought the car.
I vote for Sonax

A little upgrade with the GT4 ****, leather material, feels really good and looks a little special inside.

I agree, very nice build except the 18-way seats (which can be added later no problem)

Manual + Sport Design (prob 1-2 cars in the country for sale at any one time)+ Sport PASM+ PDLS+ (one of the must haves for me)

Get a DME report and PPI.. and enjoy

Thanks for the feedback. Thoughts on the lack of center-locks? It has 5 lug wheels and it seems that almost all others I see are center-lock.

If it wasn't white it would definitely be an easier decision but with so few available I just might have to be ok with it.

Given your assessment of the rarity of 991.1 GTS 7MT on offer atm, lack of center lock is not a problem, you can always retrofit them ($$) if you really like them or put the 5 lugs RS Spyder wheels of the 991.2.

wrt color, it’s more difficult. I passed on a couple of 991.1 Targa 4 GTS 7MT which were blue, silver or red because I really wanted a black one and I did not want to respray a car. But it took me 5 years of waiting for a black one to appear on market.

That was actually one of my next questions... is there a spyder wheel OEM option that fits. It doesn't look like it was an option for the 2015 GTS and I didn't see anything with a quick Suncoast check. So the 991.2 Spyder wheels will fit then?

As far as center-lock I guess I prefer the look but DON'T prefer the inconvenience. I see so few with 5 lugs though... I just want to make sure it doesn't make it undesirable and really ding resale. It's already white after all!

Indeed, 5 lugs spyder wheels were introduced only on 991.2 - I do not know if they would fit on a 991.1 GTS but many here fitted them on their 991.1 base or S.

I think the 5 lugs offsets will not affect reselling price when based on the few adds I have seen in the past for 991.1 GTS 7MT.

So DME came in at 249 Range 1, and just 1 Range 2, no hits 3 and up.

To me they're a plus. I have the 5 lugs and it makes life so much easier. The only thing I don't like is that it makes my GTS look like an S.

So the PO used it for milk runs to the corner store, and to go to church on Sunday. :-)
