After working on motorcycles for years and doing a couple of things on my 991.1 3.4L 7 MT 911, I'm going to embark on the 20,000 mile service as a DIY.
I need a few things - OBDII scan/reset tool, floor jack & stands, and perhaps the drain plug tool, etc.
Do you have any favorites (especially the OBDII item) that make this project magical?
Great, thank you - that quick jack looks like a great item, in particular.
You're welcome! I've had my Quickjack for two weeks now, and since it's arrived, I've flushed the brake fluid on my 991 and my Tacoma truck using that lift. It's a great alternative to jacks/stands.
I have had my Quickjack for about a year. It is very handy to have around! I bought the 7,000lb rated version, which is certainly overkill (and a little heavier) than the other two versions but it works great.
For OBD II I would recommend the Durametrics. Think my allowed 4 different VIN #'s to be used. So maybe if you have a friend or 2 that have a Porsche you could share. It's good to reset the service reminders and you can look at the different shift points. You can also monitor the car real time while driving, I have not yet tried that though.
