I was hoping with the success of the Macan the Cayenne would take on a XL Macan look. But from the outside, this looks similar to the previous one with the tail lights of the new Panamera... Yikes

I figured out why the rear of the new Cayenne looked familiar...

How embarrasing to find out the shop you hired sold the same design to Lincoln, probably for less money!

This is the problem with technology....

It's the reason that many cars start to look the same.

EX: Put 10 bricks in a wind tunnel and the more efficient you make them the more similar they start to look.

As AI is incorporated more and more into design and the better each tool gets - the closer they merge to arriving at the same conclusion. This is driving a scary aspect of automotive design.... quantitative analytics around drag/efficiency, trends and what the computer perceives their target demographic to "like".

Even the indentation for the license plate area looks the same, just flipped.

I'm not picking on you R Rated, but - AI has not been invented, and we're decades from it. Despite the medias constant use of the term. Back to the topic. You're right. The new back end looks awful. Yes, it bears an embarrassing resemblance to the Lincoln.

Hmm there hasn't been a thread about whether AI thinks we prefer NA or turbo yet.

understand. We'll call it predictive analytics then. Or intelligent automation.

As bad as it is... the newer fords were a deterrent (among other things) from my getting an Aston Martin.
