They should just pull right off like every other European car in history(almost). If you post a photo of the backside of the **** I can give you some direction.

EDIT: I'm assuming you have the new ones.

I'm curious: Why do they need to be replaced? Do they no longer function, or has the paint worn off of their faces?

Purely a cosmetic thing. If they were having mechanical issues you would need the PCM itself repaired.

in my case , they started to become sticky. Like plastic turning back into oil.

Really? I had the same cheesy problem with my 987. I guess Porsche can't be bothered with details.

The spring tensioner is a unique attribute. Most potentiometers have a "keyed" shaft that looks like a partial circle. It looks like the the PCM they're just using tension to hold them on. I would feel confident with pulling. That said, with that type of clip, I'm guessing its either going to be really easy or really hard.

I've rarely ever had to use a tool to remove a factory ****, so try with your fingers before resorting to anything that has the potential for damage.

Was able to finally replace one button but destroyed the original one in the process. Its a hard pull and I had to use a small flathead screw and tweezers to fish out the spring and the plastic that broke off from the main button

I decided not to mess with the other one and just cleaned it with alcohol then put some 303 aerospace protectant after

Over-engineered radio button fail, lol. Glad you got through the one without destroying anything you weren't replacing anyway. Thanks for following up on your process, hopefully it helps someone else in the future!

I was attempting to remove my ***** this evening and I tried pulling them off but they would not budge so before I went any further I searched and found this thread: anyone else try to remove them and have better luck? And if so any trick to get them off with breaking something?
