Why do so many people dislike the 991 turbo?
Coming for a F-car F430 - I am in the process of getting a 991TTS - primarily because I can drive it more by having rear seats.
So many people have told me not to get it and to get a C4S (since I want AWD).
I am not versed in all the reason of NA vs. Turbo, but just curious as you why so much negativity?
Thank you.

I have no idea why. I suggest you drive C4S and Turbo and see for yourself. My guess is you'll want the turbo.

The only reason I would consider a C4S would be because they are still coming with a manual transmission. But if you want PDK it's the Turbo hands down! Yes,I like natural aspirated, but in a GT3 or GT3RS,between the C4S and Turbo, there's no comparison.
All IMO,of course...

OP are these people offering this "advice" based upon their own personal experience with the car or from someone else, or, simply from the fear of being demolished by it if you buy one? Surely they can expand upon their reasoning? They obviously are not friends.

99% of people would not know the difference between a 911 C4S and a 911 Turbo.
Your thread title looks like bait to me.
You know what I get when people comment on my car? "You are driving my dream car" more often than not.

Agree with cabman - TT is the best of all P car worlds!! Also agree with 991turboS's suggestion that the thread could possibly be "bait". 991tt owners have after all been recently subjected to some persistent trolling of late resulting in the closure of a thread.
Anyway, good luck OP with your car choice in the face of those adverse comments you spoke of, and let's see the pics once you get it. Cheers.

Bait - by no means.
I wanted to make sure I was not missing anything.
I have heard so many talk about preferring NA cars over Turbos but I never knew why and I still don't.
I agree the TTS could be the best car for what it offers while providing a back seat (I need to put car seat in the back for my 2 year old).
Thanks for the input. Looking forward to getting one very very soon.

OP you are not missing anything and If you drive the two I'm sure you will agree. I would concur the atmo Pcars have a superior stock exhaust note, but a decent system will solve any issue there.

Like others state, drive both then YOU decide.
Not much sense living a life based on other people's opinions....

I love my Turbo and have no regrets at all that I ended up here after starting out looking at C4S's.
That said, there's a definite change in the exhaust note on all turbo charged engines. So if the sound of the exhaust is a critical part of the experience for you, then a turbo-charged car may not be as appealing as NA cars.
The turbo also weighs in about 400 pounds heavier than a C4S, and while the engine's power and the ceramic brakes hide that in a straight-line, you can definitely feel it in the corners. So the Turbo feels more like a GT than do the sportier-feeling NA cars.
But, like said, in spite of these "flaws" relative to the NA cars, I love my TTS and have absolutely no regrets. It's a mind-blowingly capable car that can be driven all day every day in all weather conditions and still pounds around a road course like a pro.

NA is typically preferred to a Turbo if you plan to drive the car close to its (grip) limits at the track where linear and predictive power delivery mid-turn is important (and a lot of fun, too). In those situations, view the NA as a scalpel, and the Turbo as a knife/hatchet. If this is the case, a GT3/RS would be the better option especially since their 991 versions are also very driveable on the street. As they keep making the turbos better, this difference will get smaller but it's still there at the very limits of grip. If this is not an issue for you, then get the Turbo and never look back.
