Porsche started doing this in the 80s with the "turbo look" option, partly out of necessity when turbos(930) stopped being imported. It has carried over for many generations of 911s. It's fine with me I'd rather have a subtle velvet hammer if you will.

Yeah but ya gotta pay to play if you want them on a TT....and looking at Macan Turbo I see they have tried to mimic the mesh design of the TTs's centre lock anyway.... (option wheel for TT). So nothing is sacred really. I guess "everyone" wants to be a 911 turbo....so the wheels kinda help with the fantasy....well not really.

Likewise. It's hard not to notice the turbo is something more special than your average 911. And agree GT3 needs the manual option....much more so than the TT which works better all round with the pdk.
