Default Anyone have Wheel Spacers for 5 lug Turbo / Turbo S'

Been thinking of a set of wheel spacers for my 991.2 Turbo S with 5 lugs. I have not done any research on brands, thicknesses, safety of them, If the wider track would actually make any performance difference or not, etc.

Does anyone here have any working knowledge of Wheel Spacers for our cars?? I like the look of my GF's Boxster S with spacers and was thinking of setting my wheels out a bit also.

Post up anything you can to help with the decision please!!

Thank you,

David

Any brand is ok, as long as they are hub centric. You will also need longer wheel bolts, but usually the correct length come with the spacers. Spacers add a minimal amount of stress on the wheel bearings, but Porsche has used them for years over the various models and years. I had 5mm F and 10mm R on my C2S and could not tell any difference in handling. There is a slight tendency to kick up more gravel and debris on the fenders.

Thank you Sir!

Wondering if 5mm and 10mm is the right size for a TTS. I've seen / heard of 7 & 14 on reg. 991's.

Was hoping someone had done it and had pics of a Turbo / Turbo S. Anyone???

When I did the C2S I dropped a plum bob over the fender then measured from the string to the tire. That told me how much space I had to make the tire flush.

7 and 15 spacers, don't remember what kind they are but no issues. Top is without and bottom pic is with spacers.

If you do the spacers I would recommend the GT3RS side skirt mod. (direct fit on the Turbo/Turbo S) That will act as a bit of a mud/rock flap because it sticks out so far.

Probably a good point! Thanks

A member here had a set of spacers from an old Turbo he had and sent them to me to try. Just got them today. Might be a while to get them installed.

I'll post up when I do.

Next Installment in the Adventure!!

I purchased a set of wheel spacers from a member here several months ago and have simply procrastinated on installing them. The purchase of the QuickJacks have inspired me so I installed them today.

As usually I shot a play by play during my install. Have a watch and / or just see the pics.

I think it looks a bit better with the wider stance. Seemed to drive fine and even felt a bit more planted but realistically, I only went for a short drive on local survey roads.

What are your thoughts on spacers?

What size spacers did you use?

I also like a more aggressive offset on the rear wheels. Spacers aren’t an option for center lock wheels, so I ordered new wheels with an offset to achieve the same thing. My rears are ET37. At first I was worried that it was too much, but now I really like it.

I believe they’re 15mm in Rear and 7mm in front.

The guy had some rear 20mm’s but figured that’d be too wide. Plus, you had to actually put separate bolts in for the spacers, and then the spacers themselves had threads for the regular lug bolts. I did not want to chance that.

Everything has a plus and a minus and that’s the minus of the center locks. You have to buy the whole wheel versus the five lug set up on my turbo S, was handled by $150 worth of spacers.

Some nice aftermarket wheels would look nice also but since I got the black set with tires already installed for a decent price, I went that route as my spare set.

@Big Swole I know you posted this earlier this year, but if the pic with QJ was the way you oriented them when lifting, you need to turn them around.

See here: https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1301...l#post19614256

Btw: what is the rear qtr window sticker on drivers side? Black and white Star of Life?

Are your rear lights smoked? Any pictures from the rear?
The turbonite hood emblem would look good on yours. https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1422...l#post19597678
