Using the small blocks without any pucks. I only took it to the first lock then put a stand under the crossmember. I was a bit nervous to go to the second lock, nor did I want to just to pull tires. First lock is high enough to muscle the center locks off.

QJ has this and other pictures on their site.

For people finding this YEARS later (like me) YES it is totally safe and appropriate to flip your QJ's (left for right) when lifting a rear engine vehicle.

Since the majority of vehicles on the road are Front Engine, the instructions have overlooked the fact that the weight of the engine in the front, acts as a ballast when the vehicle is being lifted. So, if you were to move that ballast, to the rear, you necessarily have to reverse the facing of the Jacks.

Hard Stop: I don't need any commentary from wannabe astroscientographists saying 'but but but' whatever.

The Jack doesn't know and doesn't care which end is the boot and which end is the bonnet. It only cares that the weight on the steel frame is in proportion to the way it was designed. The frame was designed to accommodate for the ballast being on 'that end' when the triangle is being slid forward.
So if your car (our 911's) has the weight in the rear, well, as far as the Jack is concerned, that's the 'front'....

So, us rear / mid engine folks can 'lift away' safely.

Being that we're a Macan and 911 household, I have marked them appropriately with '911' on one end and 'Macan' on the other to denote 'Front'.

From the current QJ manual (Page 40): (https://www.quickjack.com/media/wysi...al-Reduced.pdf)

Nice choice for a rear engine example!

This question seems to come up a few times per year.

When properly positioned, the QJ will lift the vehicle upward and towards the back of the car. This is a parallelogram design so the vehicle will either move up and forward or up and back. Up and back is how the 911 should be lifted. Place the QJ so the locks are on the outside for easy access.

Glad to see they finally published this. Like I said before, the CG must stay within the length of the base plate on the floor.

Another tip, take the rear wheels off before removing the fronts.
