I like the integrated rear tail lights better on the 992. That's about it.....

I try not to worry about something I can't afford to do anyway or shouldn't do if I could, so my opinions of the 992TT/TTS doesn't count.

But, I've never been known for not having and sharing my opinion, so I'll just say this.

-Give me a REAL shifter like in my 991.2TTS
-Change the exhaust outlet style to a more 991.2 setup
-Give me back some REAL buttons for controls vs. that piano black finger print crap
-Maybe a few other small things

And if I had all of ^^ this back on a 992TTS, then given the performance and major handling bump, as well as how well it responds to tuning (running mid 9's), I'd probably rather have the 992TTS

I've always been more about the GO than the SHOW, so the looks difference isn't as big a deal to me. The stuff I mentioned is though.

Bingo. On Rennlist if this is brought up it automatically gets shifted into a dick measuring contest of superiority/inferiority. Your post is spot on when it comes to the 992 analysis. Porsche could have made it that much more nicer if it was not for cost cutting/profit chasing measures. I've always said that the 992.2 will be the one to get to moment I laid eyes on the 992 at the LA auto show unveiling. I hope Porsche has something nice in store for the 992.2.

round off the front end like the 991

You share my opinions almost exactly.
For the performance bump I would probably (not definitely) go for the 992, but the lack of a shifter on the console would definitely ruin much of the enjoyment of driving the car.

With that said, my 991.1 Turbo S is still stock performance-wise while under CPO except for the Speedtech 2.5" x-pipe.
However, I did tint the windows, change the wheels, and ceramic coat it.

I also just bought a New Mustang GT with a manual tranny, not a GT500.
I did a spoiler, tint, ceramic coat, stripes, etc..

Hmmmm, am I turning in to more show than go??? LOL

Nah, I'd say it's a happy medium for ya.
I just have always saved $ on some things I'd "LIKE" to have but would rather have performance.
Meaning, I spent way more on the car I've always wanted (TTS) vs. buying what I probably should have and modded it.

I'd love a nice set of wheels and a few other small things for the show part, but sacrifice those for performance and / or savings.

Not a huge Mustang fan (despite owning a Saleen Mustang for a while) but that is very good looking!

But those wheel gaps are even worse than stock Porsches!

992 Is way better, more modern looking. The 991 looks pretty dated to me.

I know, but my back doesn't want me to lower it.
Even if I put new 20" wheels on, the tire height still leaves the wheel gap.
Maybe I will do the slightest of lowering springs, like 3/4" to 1" as long as the ride is soft.

Hands down the 991 is better looking. I would love to have the interior tech advancements that come with the 992. Performance wise the mods I have done to my 991.1 put me way ahead of the 992. I don't see it being worth $80k to get Apple Car Play.

Do you get the newest iPhone every year? Not to be rude but this type of mindset is similar to that of a peacock that wants to flaunt it's feathers.

The 992 is better in most ways, not all. However, all 911's are all timeless. There's a reason why certain cars and watches of the past fetch more $$ and are highly sought after. All across the board through all makes/models of anything of value. Latest and greatest is not an enthusiast mindset.

A 2021 instagram barbie/social butterfly wouldn't bat an eye at a 993 911 because she wouldn't look cool or good in it online. I'll take a 993 Turbo all day every day.
