I would also look for 6%. If your willing to buy from Ohio and your serious PM me and I'll speak with the GM at my dealer.

Timing? I was offered a lock this week for Nov/Dec delivery.

That's not bad. TTS are rare these days. 2016 and before can not be compared.

Generally speaking if local yeah that's ok.

Better deals can be had in some regions but usually shipping costs and hassle factor mitigates the benefit. How much trouble is a few grand worth to you. If someone has your perfect build on their lot that might be an exception as they might go lower and save you time.

Thanks all, it is near-local. My in-town dealer would only do MSRP so this feels better. Also, the timing appears soon, delivery in Nov/Dec (apparently) so that's something.

Opinions on the build? https://rennlist.com/forums/991-turb...l#post14357425

I've just got 5% on a Turbo S cab but it wasn't easy with most dealers flat out refusing any discount at all...

Agreed. I got 4% which is nowhere near what I wanted but for an early build slot and after talking to other dealers who did offer 6%, I didn’t want to wait till end of year. I think you can do better though. Where are you located?

I'm in the UK where we seem to be quite low on allocations...

I'm settling for the 3% since it is fairly local, ~20mi away, and delivery is supposed to be in late Nov early Dec. My in-town local dealer would only do MSRP and order in Dec with delivery in Feb.

I don't blame you. Life is too short to quibble over a point or two and give up several months of enjoying your special new car. I got 5% last fall for a 2017 but that was when allocations were more plentiful.

My dealer just sent me the actual sign sheet for the lock on November 24 delivery, Car already in production line-up, no changes allowed, went for manual vs PDK. Have a metallic white GT4 with 4,500 miles that I will sell on EBay probably by mid September.
Cant wait

Not bad @ 3%.
See if they will include a few extras like window tint, paint protection and oil changes etc. to effectively raise your discount and also sweeten the deal.
