Blowing out our 911R

Welcome to ThunderDome here....don't have to be nice rules here. The owner is a focking IDIOT for not getting LWB seats with houndstooth. I sure hope for the OP that they are consigning the car.

but by posting in both places I figured you wanted some discussion on it.

It's called "pepita" has more value $$
A Canadian car, doubt its consignment.

to me, it's similar to the 911 50th edition. Albeit inflated in price.
-pepita interior
-special badging
-limited production
but the R gets
-500hp 4.0L from the GT3RS ( any Finger follow issues???)
- magnesium roof
-Gt3 brakes/suspension
both cars can be had in a manual, so that's a wash.
honestly, If I wanted a limited edition and numbered car with manual/pepita interior I'd get the 50th. Plus you know your engine isn't likely to explode on you. (If they have similar issues to Gt3.

I definitely like the car, (pepita doesn't appeal to everyone) but the sotheby's auction result broke the 400k barrier for these cars a while ago.

I know of a private party transaction for a very well equipped car even below that level. The 911R is special enough that many of us would love to have one. But I have a feeling that what may seem like a great deal from a buyer's standpoint today may seem like buying high in 8-12 months from now.
But GLWS...as always, the market will determine the price. Who am I to speculate?

The sofas are actually quite comfortable and generally for a street car preferred. They don't look as dramatic, but it's true. Also, the 991 bucket is not as comfy as the older 997 gt2 bucket. The sofas also have lumbar and make the car much more approachable from entry and exit...some folks who are heavier, taller, older, injured or with wives who hate buckets like them.
If the price is too high the market will speak. Not sure why people get bent out of shape.

Canadian cars are exactly the same. They are all North American spec. Only guys who want to beat up on price get hung up on Canadian origins. Who cares. You can't read the tiny speedometer anyway. It's an efficient marketplace.

ThunderDome, indeed.
Beautiful car. GLWS. If I didn't have a .2 GT3 allocation, I would have been tempted to make an offer, although it wouldn't have a 4 handle. Hard to say where these cars hold value 2-5 years. Then again, few of us saw the 918 go double.
