So the OP gets a different flavor of car as an additional toy, and he's raked over the coals by some? Reading into his post like he's a flipper and buying the car for different reasons than he most likely is.
Nothing wrong with American muscle. Just another type of car and different purpose than a GT3. Life has many things to enjoy and doesn't revolve around Porsche or even cars ..

I don't understand how anyone who claims to be a car guy/gal can think this is a bad idea; come on, 840hp! limited run, insanely fast, what's not to like? My brother has a Hellcat and its a freaking riot to drive... too much power at only 707hp. But its a blast to hear that supercharger whine when giving it the beans. Oddly, he was called by local dealer for a Demon as well, but they wanted a rather significant ADM which is specifically against Dodge's guidelines. He told them to take a hike, only MSRP. Enjoy, post pics when arrives.

So at 808 horsepower on gas you can buy at a gas station and 4250lbs, it has a worse power to weight ratio than a Viper at 645/3297 w/ SRT package. The Viper looks awesome, can go fast turning in addition to a straight line, and hasn't had smaller brakes and no passenger seat intentionally fit to lose weight.
So they just came out with a car not nearly as good as the one they just quit making. Whoop dee doo.

The good news is we don't live in a communist country and can buy whatever car our hard earned dollars want
Nobody is saying it's a replacement for a 911. Just a different kind of car experience as they all are.

Very true, I just meant to point out why it doesn't excite me personally. Different cars for different folks, some people get excited about a Prius.
