Am I Nuts for buying a Demon

I also love what Dodge is doing, it is free enterprise at its best, IMHO. My 992.2 TTS is a couple on tenths slower at a straight line 0-60, and more so at the 1/4 mile, but I really don't care much for numbers. Put me on a road track with a Demon, and I will be waiting at the end with a nice cold drink in my hands for the driver. Different cars, different races, it is all good to me.

Just to be clear, the Demon is not a 1/2 mile car, it's a 1/4 mile car and is geared accordingly, so I will not be surprised or disappointed if it loses lots of ground in the second half of a half mile race. I do expect that it will beat any other stock production car through the 1/4 mile as that is it's purpose.
Congrats I hope you enjoy the car. My point was that the Hellcat ended up being a major disappointment to many. I know some. Granted they didn't read the fine print and got caught up the hype. Their badd. These people took the car to the drag strip and airstrip events with an expectation. And the car ended up being a major disappointment. And just like the Hellcat, there is no chance the Demon will achieve those claimed numbers in any situation except a prepped dragstrip on heated tires with a professional or at least very experienced driver. Best of luck.

I'm not sure what msrp is on the Demon, but if it's under $100k and I could buy one at msrp that could be delivered in a reasonable period of time, I'd get out my checkbook right now. Oh yeah, I would need the garage space for it too.
I am not that knowledgeable about the value of Hellcat's and Vipers, but I think it maybe the first Dodge made that has appreciation potential.
Plus it must be an awesome ride at under 10 seconds in the quarter mile.
I say go for it............

Nevertheless, 840hp, and a lot of firsts for a Production car. Looking forward to it. Dodge really cleaned up their act, I have to admit.

They allocated them, but not shipped many yet, so I don't have mine. Here are a few stock images so you get the idea. Note the air under the front wheels in picture #2
