Instructions were very clear. Do not talk to them and don't even think about helping them. And step aside when the un manned vehicles come buy.
I didn't even think of that. I figured it was to prevent theft of corporate secrets and stuff. But it makes sense. I was at the Mercedes factory yesterday and someone is getting a new S class with sun visors that were mangled by two jerk kids.

When I started doing factory tours in
Zuffenhausen back in 1981, you could
bring your cameras & use them at will.
I'll dig these pictures out one of these
days & post them here on Rennlist.

Sometime in the late 1983, if I recall the
date correctly, German privacy laws changed
dramatically (known as 'Volkszählungsurteil').
In principle, you now have to get approval
of each employee before you can take their
photo in a factory setting. That is the real
reason for the 'no cameras' rule at Porsche
& the other car factories in Germany! It is
NOT because selfies might cause a distraction!

I heard this urban legend, one day a guy was working at a factory he was divorced and not paying alimony because he told his wife he was unemployed, well someone took a picture of him at work and published it in a magazine and this created problems and thus the rule against taking pics

"On our tour there was a guy who repeatedly stepped in front of the robots "to see if they would stop." It freaked out our guide, who had earlier told us she was giving her first tour in english.
The guy crashed his day old RS the next day on the ring."

why would he do such a thing, was he ill?

I had to hand over my phone as well. Pagani put stickers in the shape of their famous round quad exhaust finisher over everyone's camera lens on their phones. I thought that was pretty cool!
