I finally picked up this '22 Epic EVO S-WORKS on Friday after adding a few upgrades. I swapped a 170 AXS Reverb instead of the 150, added a power meter, and swapped to T7 blackwalls with a Cuschcore insert in the rear. The bike came with T5 gumwalls but I personally don't like retro look even though they match they Kashima and copper XX1 well.

I did two long technical single-track rides this weekend and this bike has totally exceeded my expectations. I added it to my fleet to perform XC race duties but I am blown away with how well it handles hardcore trails, roots, rocks, rollers, drops etc. Specialized is killing it lately! (If you can get one)

Congrats! They are awesome bikes. Never road anything else that climbs like it. I demo'd one last year and was blown away by it. I want one but hard to justify for the few times a year I ride MTB.

Lol, no ADM for me! I am a long time customer, and friends with the GM. Now if I could only form that kind of relationship at my Porsche dealer...

I was only halfway kidding. Those things are as hard to get as a GT car. I bought a Pivot Mach 4SL in Dec of '20 just before things got weird. I needed a new stage race bike and wanted live valve. I have it endurofied with 4 pot brakes/big rotors and a 120mm fork. I love it but if I was buying today it'd be an S-Works EVO.

The industry is bonkers right now. I know of local small stores closing because they can't make any revenue. Big bike companies are telling stores, you are getting 40 total bikes to sell this year, that's it. No bike sales = no business model. Luckily my shop is a top 15 US Specialized dealer. Similar to the Porsche world, this helps a lot with allocations!

The high end carbon manufacturing facilities in Vietnam are going through a rough C19 wave right now according to a Yeti rep I know. Some are barely operating, layer that on to increased demand, Shimano's production issues etc...and yeah, I'm just glad I have bikes to ride. I spent a couple k on consumables for both bikes in May of 20, chains, cassettes, tires etc...

Riding kept me sane through much of the pandemic.

Where are you getting your 12 speed DA group? You plan to sell your current DA?
