To me, it's just a car, and already stupid expensive for my resources and use, though I do like to customize a vehicle to my own tastes and have always done so, in the old-time "hot-rod" tradition. Like CME, it cost me less than $1K to put pepita inserts in my 991 GT3.

I'll ping you after I get my car to find out who did your seats.

I don't know of a competent local upholstery shop and I would prefer to do mail order if someone is making them already.

Honestly guys, it's not that bad at all. Indeed, after only two weeks of ownership, I don't even notice the stripes when I hop in the car.

That must be one of the downsides of living "On the internet."

I will happily go into the business of making them myself and mail you a set for $2500 . You'll save over $6K on the Porsche Exclusive option.

The flaw with Porsche on the stripe was not offering it as a *cost option. Then everyone would be tripping over themselves to get it vs getting it for free. (Free? turns nose up). Or is it really a stroke of genius? Give it to us for free and they'll pay $8500 to remove it?!

Lots of complaining now, but just stay tuned ... years down the road people will start threads asking how to get striped inserts because they are such a cool throw-back/old-school look.

Ordering pepita seats from Exclusive Options, they sent a very detailed email of product quality and include the foam cores so I can keep my originals intact for storing. They also seem to be brighter than the Porsche silver/Grey and black as more silver/white in appearance.

Anyone who has already ordered and installed in GT3 please post pics and comments?

thanks
