I also agree that this is likely the top 5 posts I have read/seen on RL. Threads like these are what get my juices flowing..
The absolute best part about this thread is the only investment that RJ is looking for is in his own happiness & enjoyment!

That was the funniest part of that hitler video actually, they are going to be very careful to not let out complete R transmissions in future.

Are we going to start seeing 911R transmission flippers now?

I'd think that any high value or easily damaged component of any limited edition modern Porsche will probably not lose value if kept in new condition.

One of my friends bought up absolutely every take-off KKK turbo he has been able to find over the years as people would "upgrade" their air-cooled 911 Turbos with aftermarket snails.

Lately he's made a mint, selling those units back to people who have found that putting the original snails back on those now "vintage collectible" cars makes them worth a lot more.

One way to make money is to predict the future market and position for it.

A really smart man would, I think, invest in bumpers, fenders, quarter panels, front splitters, etc. for the 997 and 991 generation cars and warehouse them. The day WILL come when Porsche no longer stocks them and they'll become a sound investment.

Exactly, I bet they (Porsche Corporate) will require a 911R VIN and transmission case number to let you have another one. And they will want the old one back......

I think part of the reason why BGB wants to stay low key when it comes to mocking Porsche,is because them as a company have been pretty good when it comes to their relationship with race shops. So they might not sell you or Joe Schmo's shop a 911R transmission, but they will sell it to BGB and similar.

This is very true, I'm a customer and enthusiast, BGB has a working relationship with them and in some way or an other they must eat from this relationship. "A Wise guy told me not long ago, you don't poke the mama bear"!

With 5 factory race cars in our shop and a business that spends well over $350K per year on factory Porsche parts i covet my relationship with both Porsche Cars North America and Porsche Motorsport North America. I need them to survive and they are, in my opinion, the best car manufacturer a business like mine could ever have as a partner. Their road cars are awesome but the parts program is phenomenal and MOST of the dealerships are too. I have lost count of the Porsche vehicles we have purchased for professional racing and i stopped counting at 50 on motors we have purchased over the years. Thank you all for understanding.

Will the 991R transmission hold the power and torque of the new GT2RS?
