Here is a serious q,
Is the .2 gt3 slower than .1 as they claim in the advertise?
I am a little concerned, i have build week 26 july and need to know more!
Lets not waste time w more pts/painted calipers, convertible gt3/rearseat/can i have pull/tow on my gt3...

Not for 2018 model. They may release one new color for 2019 model, but may not, too early to know any info at this moment.


Historically, GT cars special colors are in conjunction with solid non-metallic paint more. Like UV and LO for .1RS, Greyblack, RS Orange, RS Green on 997 etc. There are exceptions obviously. I am sure they will bring new special colors for .2 RS


The Saffron Yellow Metallic would be to give the Turbo and Turbo S an edge over the other models. Like the age old strategy to tempt people to upgrade if they want a particular feature. Turbo and Turbo S is already losing part of its flare with every other 911 model being turbo engine and with pretty much enough torque.

I need to know this too. I only drive on the ring/pull/tow/wtf/whatever/nonsense/silly/serious/not really

No lol. .2 PDK is not slower than .1PDK


I talked to some of the Motorsports people. There seems to be quite a lot of confusion and they're not sure what's going on with marketing and testing.

Do you know if the initial model runs will have the rear view camera or when they will come standard?(hopefully no corresponding price increase)..=).

Yup, for US, all 2018 GT3 will have rear view camera standard. That is the information given to us.

IIRC based on that .2 GT3 reveal A.P. interview, the .2's standard cast iron rotors are bigger (380mm but thicker?) than the .1's standard cast iron rotors... correct? If so what are the new measurements?

And are the .2 PCCB rotors the same size as the .1 PCCB rotors (410mm fronts; 390mm rears) or are they now bigger as well? Do you know the new dimensions?

.2 GT3 iron brake specs are of the following:


Front: 380mm, thick 34mm
Rear: 380mm, thick 30mm


so same as .1 GT3 from what I've been told.


.2 GT3 PCCB are also the same rotor size:


Front: 410mm, thick 36mm
Rear: 390mm, thick 32mm

All headlights in the GT3 will feature the 4 point Daytime Running Lights, does not matter which of the 4 headlights you option (including no option).


The free option and the $780 PDLS are both Bi-Xenon headlights but with LED DRL in the interior of the housing (on the actual projector shown below). The two $2k+ LED headlight options are LED headlights but with LED DRL on close to the exterior border of the headlight (on the ring halo as shown below)


Free Bi-xenon are chrome and silver headlights. $780 PDLS BiXenon are partial black headlights.

Based on what you know thus far, do you know when dealers will get their allocations?

For now it seems:

April 2017: for July 2017 to December 2017 Builds
October 2017: for all 2018 builds (from Jan 2018 to Dec 2018)?

Are there more builds beyond Dec 2018 and additional allocations when dealers might find out?
