Ha. So true. I figure with the leather trim on the dash and console, but without full leather it gives it even more of the Teutonic look like the signal green, fashion grey, and arena red 991.1 GT3. As someone who dislikes alcantara and deviated stitching I was so stoked for the touring.

It's a bit dark for the standard silver.

I agree, those are Satin Platinum wheels.

I think they don't look dark enough to be satin platinum.

If you look at these do you think these satin aluminum?

Thanks Gauss, further question, the silver trim on the touring pack.... suits the wheels on the blue touring car or you think the Satin Alu finished would work better or just as well. In other words was the trim a gloss or flat silver ?

Also per a question on another thread, did you notice if the door sill (GT3 logo) was the same dark brushed aluminium or silver ?

Thanks for comments / thoughts.

I'd like to know for sure if the above wheels are standard silver or satin aluminum, as well.

^^ pretty sure that's Sain Aluminum.

I believe Satin Aluminum is standard on the R and that's what majority of 911R have.

These appear to be satin aluminum from the video.

Evil: Point of clarification for the record. On
the MY2015 late production PTS .1 991 gt3
in 'Signal Green', 'Arena Red Metallic' & 'Fashion
Grey', only the 10 'Signal Green' gt3s did not
come with 'Full Leather'. The 'Arena Red' &
'Fashion Grey' had it...and the 'Signal Greens'
all had additional & expensive leather trim in
'black' leather, such as the $1870 'Sport Seats
Plus Backrest Shell in Leather' & $605 'Leather
Interior Package i.c.w. Standard Interior'.

So the 'Signal Green' gt3s had expensive leather
options without the cachet (in many people's eyes)
of 'full leather', albeit while creating a rather stark
'black' interior cabin. If you want to glorify that
curious utilization of dollars for the interior by
calling it 'Teutonic', that is fine & your prerogative.
It's definitely someone higher-up at PAG's vision
of the perfect interior on a sporting gt3...sans the
desirable LWBs (unfortunately)!

Saludos,
Eduardo

I don't know about satin platinum? There is satin aluminum, which look almost white in pics and came on the 911R, and then platinum which came on GT3.1. These two look like those two options, not the same wheel

The blue car at the IAA has confirmed the standard wheels.

That was my original thought, too.

Thank you.

EDIT: Trying to balance your post with this:

http://www.automobilemag.com/news/an...porsche-911-r/

The matte Platinum Silver paint used on the standard 911 R wheels is unique to the car and meant to copy the unpainted look of the original 1967 911 R’s wheels. Alternatively, you can spend $675 to have the wheels painted Platinum Satin — the same grey color as the standard wheel on the GT3 and GT3 RS — or high-gloss black.

Can any 911R owners clarify this?

I changed back to the standard wheels. I realize even in the Frankfurt photo the sapphire blue wheels is much brighter than the trim so I don't want to go that light.
