It is not surprising in the slightest that the neurotic guys who bash Porsche dealers all day long on the internet can't get a GT car at MSRP to save their neurotic life.

It is also not surprising that a small minority of others on Rennlist (the quiet, level-headed ones) have no problem getting exactly what they want with 1 phone call.

If you spend a good portion of your time giving a group of people the middle finger, don't be surprised when that group gives you the middle finger in return.

But it's so fun bashing on the worst of the worst dealers. A relationship is a two-way street. My side business is all about relationships so I know how one works very well.

"There is no such thing as a bad asset, only bad prices"

Maybe you should follow your own liked quote's advice.

Actually that "group of people" being referenced in these posts drew the middle finger first didn't they?

Obviously there are many stand up dealers, but there are a big handful that don't deserve repeat business. Consumers can choose who to support with their hard earned money. Rennlisters are free to share their experiences both positive and negative aren't they? Thank goodness we have a venue here to share ideas and stories that otherwise would be shoved under the rug and never heard of.

The masochism (gluttony for punishment) in these allocation threads is palpable. Not that there's anything wrong with it. Porsche and Hermes (Birkin) give the market exactly what it wants in exactly the way it wants it.

Amazing. Any dealer that screws a client like you should lose their franchise. Insane!

OK! A lotta bad juju in this thread but lets bring 'er back. I am high up on a list but still no allocation, hoping for one in April. I will prob take the early PDK allocation instead of waiting for the manual. (Still debating getting a GT4 or a spyder so I can row my own)

Greatest knock on the McLaren? It is not NA and it's a McLaren, a company that has no problem thucking customer over.
I've had my disagreements with them, but I think they've treated me extraordinarily well. Best track car hands down.

Here is an interesting question... would you pay $240 for a 16 GT3 RS if it guaranteed you an allocation for the new GT3 at sticker price?

If you're cold calling dealers, should you expect to be able to secure an allocation? Doesn't sound promising to me. If you were a dealer who regularly sells the GT cars at MSRP and probably only gets 1 or 2 tops why would you sell one to a cold caller? Even if you're a tiny dealer I would assume you have at least 2 people in your area who buy them and want them?

Or another question... how many of these dealers who sell at MSRP (small dealers) do you think would take an offer of 10 grand or so over MSRP to bump the one or two regulars who buy these cars from them?
