GT3 Dealer Allocation Thread

Here is my experience so far:
I send in my build sheet to 8 dealerships in the west
I called three dealers where I had a relationship.
Only 1 dealership called me back with a rational process ($2000 deposit, MSRP. VIP first then they start calling on those with deposits)
Best advice here...just be patient.
Also, the best rail I got back was from a San Diego dealer..."What would you offer for a new 991.2 GT#?"

I decided to go to a dealership here in Virginia to see if they had a long list and the manager proceeded to tell me "there will only be 800 GT3's that make it stateside, 200 of which will be in Atlanta and 600 for all the dealerships. We will be ordering ours in PDK only as to not run the risk of not selling the car if it was a manual and we will be selling it for 80-100k over sticker." I laughed and walked out the door. Dealer I have a relationship with took my deposit 2 years ago and I've been on the list since for MSRP

why is PCNA getting 200? where do they go after they receive it or are you saying that there are 200 allocations for Atlanta for those that choose to do the Porsche Experience there?

The way he made it seem was as though it was for both people who want delivery there and for PCNA because he said "after the demo cars are used then they'll ship them out to us to sell"

Update:
Porsche Beverly Hills..."As of now I know that we will be receiving 3 open slots and are taking a $15k deposit. Now having that said we still do not know the market of this car but we do know that it will be going over sticker. If you wish to move forward I have attached a credit card deposit form than you can fill out and email back to me. As for the euro deliver we can always arrange that as well, once we have the open slot we will sit down and build a car and place the order. If you have any questions feel free to email." I passed...Patience

The insane thing is...some will probably pay that.

Porsche really needs to raise the standards for its dealerships. I feel like I need a shower after reading some of these posts. I think one should expect more when spending 150k plus.

Spoke to my SA again today - his story has been consistent - MSRP for current customers and local buyers, all others at market price. They stopped adding names to list at 45, almost half of which are out of state and more than half want 6 speed. Their VIP's are not interested in GT3 - they have RS and/or R already.
Place on allocation list is determined by number of previous purchases, ties are broken by date of contact to be placed on wait list
He still expects they will have information on initial allocations by early April.

Just paid my $2k deposit at Porsche Mill Valley, CA...very nice people there. Paul was very honest with me, "We have 40 on the list, first 12 are manual, only half made a deposit, they will be making the PDK cars first." You are right TM5, he said the 918 crowd are passing on these. How many cars can they possibly buy? (918/991 Turbo Edition, GT3, GT3RS, 911R). Apparently they are waiting to buy the new 991.2 GT2RS which will be offered to the 918 guys first.
I got a different story from every dealership I spoke to (5). I think that they all had their sales meeting today with management and were all told different things. It's kind of funny really. "Go get 'em kids! as much as you can get out of those suckers!"

Hmmmmm, about 6 weeks ago Brett told me their list was too long and it wasn't worth placing a deposit...
