agreed. It's a crap shoot, if it's anything like the gt4 process- I believe it opened midway through production. My car was number 5 on allocation list and I was able to get it.

1-4 cars weren't in the window and the remaining 6-10 cars weren't either.

good luck! But prepare to be disappointed just based off the numbers.

Unless you are a 918 VIP or else number one on your dealer's list of non-918 VIPs in line for a .2 GT3, don't count on a PTS allocation.

my dealer said they got approx 12 991.1 GT3 allocations and they had 6 918 VIPs who all were first in line for them. Only 2 of the 12 were PTS allocations and the 918 VIPs get first dibs.

This is time around they have maybe 4 918 VIPs (2 apparently lost status for selling/flipping), but among the 4 remaining, probably at least 2 will take a .2 Gt3 allocation and if offered would be foolish to turn down PTS.

Even if there is a PTS allocation available to a non-918 VIP, it would likely go to whoever has the biggest relationship with the dealer in terms of number and price of vehicles purchased from them in last few years, and I know personally of at least one non-918 VIP in line for PTS .2 GT3 from my same dealer who would fit that bill ahead of me. Who knows if there are others.

for those of us who aren't 918 VIPs, we should be grateful just to get an allocation at all it would seem. Maybe if the production run goes for 3 years and Porsche makes a lot things will be different later on in production cycle. Who knows. By then, though, everyone will be anxious for the 992 GT3 or whatever the next big thing will be.

Long story short, if a PTS .2 GT3 dealer allocation is in the cards for you, you probably already know who you are.

It's closer to $3k difference ($7k vs $4,200)

I agree with the "long story short"

there is RS Green (which may be viper green?),
Green, signal green. Is viper green the darker

A) Current cost of PTS on non-gt3 .2 991 is $6950.
We don't really yet know if it will be higher on the
.2 991 gt3. In the .1 991 gt3, it was priced similar
to the cost of PTS on the regular models - $5500
at the time. Hopefully, PTS will stay at $6950.
The problem continues to be the limited allocation
of PTS slots within the overall gt3 build allocations
at Zuffenhausen. At the present time we don't yet
know when the PTS window will open for the .2 991
gt3s...and if it will be extremely limited like it was
for the .1 991 gt3. Due to the increase interest in
PTS (something we have something to do with here
at Rennlist), I am afraid it will become increasingly
harder to land a PTS slot on a gt3 model unless PAG
decides to increase their ability to do PTS at the
factory's paint shop.

B) 'RS Green', color code 2D8, is now simply
called 'Green' & it's on the approved PTS list.
So is 'Viper Green', color code 225. And there
are several other attractive solid/uni greens to
choose from:

C) The last approved list we published here at
Rennlist is dated 5/2015. You can find it here:

https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...91-gt3-rs.html

There are updated list of the approved PTS
colors...but PAG/PCNA considers it now
confidential & we have elected not to publish
them until Porsche changes their short-sighted
policy on this matter.

In the meantime, you can contact your dealer
or 'Porsche Exclusive' rep in Atlanta or Los Angeles
to ask for the latest updated PTS approved list.

Please send them an email at <PersonalDesign@porsche.us>

Good luck with your PTS .2 991 gt3 order!

Eduardo

No, it's not. It will come later in production. Right now the configurator doesn't even have the buttons so nobody knows the price for sure.

I'm hoping for PTS, but am prepared to be disappointed.

I guess on a GT car Porsche has given us the largest selection of colors ever offered. Would have liked a green in their somewhere
I do like the Chalk option as something new. Would have rather had a couple more new colors offered and less choices.

Guessing you have one on the car? If you trade up and can't use it, PM me. I'll likely take it off your hands.

Just an FYI on the differences between RS Green, Signal Green, and Viper Green. These samples were posted by Leh Keen on Instagram:

What color green is a 997.1 RS? I see a lot of people call it Viper. A few say Signal. A green 997.1 GT3RS is "RS Green". I had some spray samples done by @brysonthepainter for a future project and these 3 were in them. So from left to right. We have - RS Green - Viper Green - Signal Green. Of course the year of the color will change things up a bit too. But no reason to make this too complicated!

Just for clarification RS Green is on the left? Signal Green in middle? Viper Green on the right?
