Will the 991.2 GT3 be a $300K car?

OP: No, def will not be. And your problem is that you've already 'budgeted' and are willing to pay above MSRP it seems. YOU are perpetuating and adding to the problem by willing to pay above instead of saying no and walking away/finding another dealer to work with.

No way.
I really hope people don't have to pay even the $220K you have mentally budgeted. That would be insane. The used RS market will prevent that from happening IMO.
I guess we'll know soon enough as dealers start to call/e-mail those on the allocation lists. I'm surely not locking in a deposit w/o knowing what ridiculous mark-up they want.

I think it will be around that number unfortunately. At least during the first batch of released cars. The problem is the dealers that choose to play price games with the Porsche owners as a whole, you have long time customers to the brand being turned away from what is going to be a production car at the end of the day. I currently own 6 Porsches, 3 of them are RS cars and all 6 of them get serviced by my local P dealer. Now who decides to call me today, my local P dealer to let me know that they will be doing me a favor and ONLY SELLING ME a 991.2 GT3 at 30K over build price. that puts this car with a decent build sheet at over 205K .
Toss in some of the goodies I didn't check off and maybe a PTS and voila, we are entering RS territory quick. That 30K cash grab from the stealer tickles me in the wrong places.

Only a total fool would pay $220k for a .2 GT3. Even $30k over is rich. I'd tell me dealer to keep dialing for a greater fool.
I expect $15-25k over initially. Anything more is idiotic.

Its called capitalism - no one is twisting your arm - if somebody wants to pay to get an early delivery thats their choice. To you its idiotic to them its a good decision, they'll have a car, you won't.
Its neither "foolish" or "idiotic" if the timing and price point works for the buyer. It just seems that way to you because of your position/priorities.

I think you misunderstood what i was saying. A really optioned out .2 GT3 with a PTS option along with your acceptable expected 15-25K over initial msrp. would put you right in the 220K range. That's the math on the car when it comes out. Absolutely can be reduced and optioned lightly but dealer markup will come into play. for those fortunate enough to have dealers local to them who take care of them at msrp i'm happy for you! My local dealer couldn't give a S*#T about their relationship with me, the vehicles I've purchased from them or the service i give to them. Unfortunately all my *experiences with Porsche in my pretty young life have been this way so im used to it.
* with 2 exceptions,
(Malachy in CT and Dan in Vegas, Good guys)
another day I'll write about it.

I'm on the list at my local dealer and have been told I will get an allocation. We will see what happens. But if the demand for the .2 GT3 lowers the values of other GT cars I'll happily buy one of those at a discount from today's prices if my .2GT3 allocation doesn't come through. I'm coming from a 991.1 C4S and pretty much any GT car is a nice upgrade for me.

You obviously don't appreciate my business. Goodbye.

The GT3 is simply not a $200k+ car.
