The car is priced precisely where the Porsche bean counters think it should be. Def not worth more than that IMO. But hey, to each their own, I would never agree with paying a dollar more than necessary.

I originally posted this thread caught up in the excitement of the 991.2 gt3 announcement, and without having the information from the US configurator, really had no idea of what a fully optioned gt3 would look like.
So if I literally check all the boxes, the car comes out to around $185K. I completely understand and respect the opinions that any dealer mark-up is wrong and move onto another dealer. However, based on the market in Southern California (which admittedly works a little different from the rest of the country, unfortunately), my guess is that a $30K dealer mark-up (at least for the first batch) won't be too far off. The MT will be out in 2018 according to my dealer, and it would not surprise me at all if those mark-ups are north of $30K.
So let's add $30K to the $185K = $215K + 10% sales tax (California) = $236K.
The build that I want comes in at $175K already (bucket seats, PCCB, PTS, and a few other bits here and there. Personally, I really dig the carbon fiber side mirrors, and would certainly inquire about carbon fiber colored wing as well).
So I agree that the 991.2 GT3 won't be a $300K car, but it would not surprise me at all if we saw one of the first MT go for close to that.

to my honest opinion there some factors that have been overlooked regarding the 991.2 gt3 Manual.
Its arguably better car then the R, maybe a bit heavier and less noisy.. more refined.
There are not maybe .2 gt3 Porsche can produce to begin with as they are starting the 992 production very soon. Out of which there will be far less manual version. I don't think there will be more 1000 unites , at least not double then that that pretty sure.
next get of gt3? don't know, this one might be it. the best of them all.
Regarding the rs; its a totaly different animal and you guys know it. I wouldn't want to drive that car anywhere besides the track. its obviously a pdk only and to may taste very "look at me" machine.
Which brings me to another point.. the touring pack. if that will turn out to be true, 2. gt3 with no wing and 4 seats.. with assumed low production numbers - if ppl paid over 500k for the r they for sure will pay 50-150 over msrp for that gt3. if not in first 1-2 years then when the next gt3 will came out, faster, heavier, more digital, and probably more corrupted.

Not having read this thread, however on mobile.de they are for sale at 240k Euro. Perhaps way too cheap.

In general, I don't think so. There are exemption, like the very first car for that dealer, state, city, block.... As what others were saying, just wait and the price will settle down to MSRP. Unless you want to have the bragging rights as the first !!! It is not a limited edition GT3 and Porsche will milk it as much as possible, build more for more profit (also add more cash for Dieselgate). Also remember that not all Porsche GT3 prospective buyers read this forum and they will let the time pass and doesn't care less if they get one or not. In my case, I will NOT get this GT3 more than MSRP and life goes on for this First World problem. Maybe for some people, this new GT3 is a necessity but for me this car is a luxury.

And by best, it sounds like you are saying, the last one with a manual trans? Its this sort of paranoia that drove 997 GT prices way up. IMO Porsche tried going all PDK and it backfired. I doubt they try that again for at least a couple of generations. Pay MSRP or wait IMO.

Considering most of us couldn't turn a faster lap time in a GT3 than a GTS , I would recommend buying a GTS and right before you sign the deal demand an allocation of a GT3 at MSRP. Then enjoy the GTS until the GT3 arrives.

6500 .1RS WW? Well if Wiki says it's so especially citing 0 sources it must be so. Lol. You wanna see what a car car produced to 6500 units looks like on the market? Look at GT350s for
sale. At least 900 available.
