Three Wheelin'
I did not like hill hold at all initially on the GT4. It actually caused me to stall a few times because you need to get the car rolling a bit more forcefully to overcome the brake hold and let the system know that you "got it." I have since gotten used to it and don't think about it. It does reduce stress of driving on hills during rush hour a bit.

I don't know how many of you are old enough to remember this, but back in the 80's Honda dealerships had 6 month waiting lists (for a mass produced car,) put markups on every Accord, and still sold every last one of them. I am sure everyone buying 911s snickered back then, too.
I am not sure, but Subaru may be doing the same thing now.
I would put aside your 'airs' and recognize that there are different markets for different people.

Agree.
My earlier comment mistakenly focused on value (and popping balloons) which I won't mention ever again. I was merely musing that I (as do many individuals) like the unique aspect (in whatever form) and we pay for it and get jealous of others that have it and in particular if we cant get it also. As you say such is life and human nature.
So what I was saying, if you had a R now, I would imagine that you would be miffed if Porsche all of a sudden produced another 3000 units of the exact (or similar being just miffed to a lesser extent) vehicle because even though a great car in its own right, a significant part of the joy of ownership of this particular one, was that it ended up being highly desirable and "unique". Therefore would be hoping that it kept its unique aspect for a little longer...
And as a business relationship guy you don't want too many of your best customers miffed.. particularly if your other customers are already feeling a bit unloved for missing out in the first place.
So what to do ... It will be interesting to see how Porsche play it out over next few models / releases trying to find the balance.
