Anybody know for sure if the GT3 will be on display at NYC Auto Show?

I figure that too but I haven't gotten a definitive answer from Porsche peeps either. They say it should be there as well. Thinking about flying over to the show for the day. Really want to see GR in person on this car. I promised myself this would be my car of colour (all have been black, grey, silver or white). I find myself leaning towards white if no PTS...but GR is looking sweet too.

Let's review:
Standard Lights-Bi-Xenon with integrated 4-point LED daytime running lights, dynamic range adjustment and headlight cleaning system. They don't change angle (swivel) in corners=NOT PDLS

3 light options:
code 603- PDLS with Grey Bezel and some black parts and some silver parts. They swivel in the corners.
code 602-LED
code XEY- Black LED

991.2 GT3 with Black LED:

Agreed. Currently, there isn't an XEX option. Some have speculated there won't be. Some have speculated the configurator isn't updated to show this option yet. Maybe PAG really wants you to get LED if you want all black. Maybe not.

Configurator does not show the stripe delete option on the LWBS, which I thought AP stated was "optional."

I guess we will wait and see if the configurator gets updated or these options never made it to reality.

Or, someone in the know says you can order these options directly from the dealer with the proper code even IF the configurator does not illustrate that.

I think that people are just a bit icked by Porsche's lousy non-documentation and/or by their probable refusal to give you black headlights unless you upgrade to LEDs now (*).

(*) with some, including me, thinking the Xenons look better

The bi-xenon black headlights will come eventually. They always do.

Same drama last time about LED's. They weren't available in black right away and orders were locking.

CarAdvice Australian article, interview with Porsche Australia PR and Motorsport Director (interesting that general PR and Motorsport Director is the same role). Article gives insight into initial sales PDK vs Manual and hints at production run.

Germany 20% manual, 80% PDK

It'll be interesting to see the North American results. I'm not sure whether it was this thread or the allocations thread or something else but one of the dealer folks mentioned that most of their orders were for a manual.

I was reading comments about this somewhere else (Jalopnik maybe?) and there seems to be a lot of support for the idea that Europeans buy many more manuals for their everyday drivers so they're quite happy having the "fastest" option for their performance cars while here in North America we're starved for a more immersive driving experience in anything else so we want that in our fun cars.

I'm confused then... in the 'Standard Equipment' section under 'Lighting Systems' it states... "Bi-Xenon™ headlights incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS)"

Just because it says that, doesn't mean it's correct. The Canadian one no longer says that.

They're trying to confuse us so we just pick LEDs

If they'll let me pick any options at all, the battle is already won.

*waiting for allocation*

Is GR the color Porsche is showing the GT3? GR usually has more of an orange tint. Could it be Carmine Red?

It's guards red, which under interior fluorescent lights which have a blue tint, looks like the nice intense red we all wish it could be. if you want your GT3 to look like that you need to get PTS "absolute red" which is basically Ferrari red which DOES have that nice saturated color.

This RS is pts absolute red . It's a pity but guards red really does have that orangey look to it.
